For one I would charge $20 even.. if they got more give them a discount. Did you charge a design fee for the logo design or was it already made? -
oh gosh.. the bed is GREAT.. been feeling better each day.. VERY worth the 6 hours it took to put these together.

RTA - for retail you will want to charge about $0.25 per square inch for singles. For organizations or large orders they are going to want a discount. Let them know you will offer a 60% discount after an order of 100 or more, at around $0.10 per square inch. You should really charge between $0.08 and $0.15 per square inch. i.e. - 5" x 7" decal for around $2 - $3. Test the waters out a little and ask $5 each. As for my business I have a $10 minimum in place to cover my butt and make sure I make a decent amount of money, plus they know what to expect and can sale even more product in the long run if you have the minimum in place. For my pricing: http://synfxonline.com/priceguide.jpg http://synfxonline.com/priceguide2.jpg http://synfxonline.com/priceguide1.jpg --------------------------------------------- Some things to keep in mind when quoting: 1) Size 2) Quantity 3) Number of Colors 4) Self-Install or Needs Installation 5) Deliver or Pick-up 6)Design or Basic Text 7) Where, when, distance to be delivered/installed Complexity adds to price 9) Changes add to price 10) Short Notice adds to price 11) New or Repeat Customer 12) Individual Need or Other 13) For resale or give-away ALWAYS UPSALE! Things you can offer: 1) More colors 2) Specialty colors 3) Quantity discounts 4) Other services at a discount 5) If they get a sign, ask if they need window graphics. etc.

Yes Big it is all Avery and 3M vinyls.. It took me about 30 minutes per magnetic. I had to pre-cut my magnetic strip off of a roll I bought. You save nearly 45% when you buy a roll vs. pre-cut. It took approximately 30 minutes to cut and weed everything, hour install, 5 minute delivery, and about 3 to 4 hours design. Now.......... For the longest time I foolishly bought only 10yd rolls at a time trying to feel like I was saving money.. I recommend everyone stride to make a purchase of 25ft of magnetic next time and 50yds of vinyl to see how much that can really save you in the long run. For example with magnetics.. pre-cut $12 each - roll $70 25ft roll = $5.60 per set Get 12 sets for the price of six. You do the math = Higher Profit. The first magnetic you make will make your money back on supplies, now it is time to make some profit. Build Inventory one 50yd roll at a time, start with white, then black, red, blue, and so on.

Ok... for retail you will want to charge about $0.25 per square inch for singles. However, this is an educational facility so they are going to want a discount. Let them know you will offer a 60% discount at around $0.10 per square inch. You should really charge between $0.08 and $0.15 per square inch. i.e. - 5" x 7" decal for around $2 - $3. Test the waters out a little and ask $5 each. I would also charge $1 to add their number since EACH will be different OR at least each batch will be different and in different quantities.

You are telling me........... It is hard enough to keep up with my own stuff let alone putting a website together for someone else. NIGHTMARE! Not always.. just take lots of meds and you will not mind people complaining so much... JK on the meds guys... but really.. If you can handle it, it can be profitable as I am sure you are aware. You should charge 20+ per hour if you can put together a basic website... I never knew what to charge,.. My rate now is around 35-50 an hour. Lots of cash can be made if you go to traders markets in your area and sell small informational website packages. We made a good income from that in the first years.

YES, it is on both sides!

I code everything from scratch.. no editors.. no bulls... I used Photoshop CS2 and EditPlus v2.12 by ES-Computing. I had a web design business a couple years back and did all of the graphic design for all of the 100+ websites, ads, and printables we pumped out in 3 years. However, I did not learn enough of the coding side of the business. So I struggle with what I know and keep it simple because of that.. I guarantee you will not find any advanced coding here.. kept it pretty basic. That's what I know.... Easy.. as John puts it so eloquently. That type of graphic design is very different.. You have to learn and become accustomed to setting up structures. I would say it is close to almost building a virtual house/business. I could get better at it but I don't love it quite that much, I can just hire someone to do some deep coding for me. www.RentaCoder.com is a recommended site of mine to make some extra money. Bids on jobs posted by businesses throughout the world. LOTS of new jobs EACH day. Web design can be good money for those who do not mind repetitive jobs that require LOTS of repeating things. Money is OK at best unless you have a reputation/experience. If you have time at the computer I would recommend looking into this. Ok..... Hope this helps! haha
