Strange Diagonal Cut, not shown on preview

Make sure your file has no "duplicate" nodes that are causing it to think it needs to make the diagonal cut. I sometimes get artifacts when I import an EPS that is poorly optimized. Is it doing it in the same spot all the time? If its doing it randomly, static or an interface problem is probably your issue. Replace the USB cable and use a different port.

    Help on this please

And I'd be one of those looking to take your knees. In "bulk" cases like this where you have simple product that is easy to make and a guaranteed large sale with no support afterwards it might make sense to just charge based on materials and time. I'd charge ($40/hr? + slightly marked up material) and call it a day.

    AT75 and AT65 Help

Sounds like you got a bad roll then mate. I have one almost useless roll of "AT60" (Before they made AT65).

    Graphtec CE6000-60 HELP

Can anyone try with a different computer? If that works you may have to address the cutter differently. IE: USB2 instead of USB. If that's the cause then plugging it into a physically different port wouldn't change anything.

    Need cutter advice

The Titan is a fine starting cutter, that should do most of what you need without issue. I would also check craigslist etc to see if you can find an old Graphtec CE-5000 or Craft robo pro (the 15" CE-5000). $500 may well get you one and the Graphtec cutters are basically "bulletproof".

    Hello from Ohio

    Welcome in mate!
  7. I'd think so. Best way is to make a small test decal for an inconspicuous area to test first.
  8. I've used the greenstar clear medium tack tape to transfer 631 to walls before without issue. I'd be on the lookout to make sure that the walls are not a flat paint though. Flat paint comes up & scuffs really easily. Oracal makes an app tape specially for the 631. HT55 if i recall. Good luck!

    AT75 and AT65 Help

I find that AT series reacts badly to direct sunlight. Is it in range of a window?

    Clear Coat Over Vinyl

I use Krylon "Kamar Varnish" on top of some of my crafts. I find that sharp corners on 651 get eaten a bit by regular Krylon clear coat.

    tape air bubbles help

I've tested AT75 outside leaving it rolled and unrolled in 90+ degree weather for a long afternoon with no exposure to sunlight. Upon unrolling, the app tape didn't tunnel excessively, but it did pull up off the backing a bit. The worst thing however, is that if you try to squeegee the face, you have a good chance of creasing parts if you do it poorly.

    tape air bubbles help

All of the Rtape plastic types I have tried do poorly in sunlight or heat. They both like to tunnel and bacon to hell. AT75 was the most reactive.

    For us smaller guys.

Rule of thumb: Anytime you need to outlay more time or money than you are willing to write off, get some cash up front.

I'm pretty sure as he runs from the lawyers, he has a chance of blending in with the graffiti covered walls of Brooklyn.
  16. If its very simple, straight 751 and you aren't doing anything other than a ground install to the plexiglass (and not removing an old sign), then $300 is very fair IMO

I love making items at $0 profit (NOT!)

Personally I find "In loving memory" decals to be kind of taboo in terms of making money. I ethically can't make a buck off of misery. I honestly don't like making them, but understand why someone wants to honor their loved ones. FOR some reason, I've gotten TONS of requests for these and I NEVER feel comfortable making a profit on these jobs, so I volunteer my time or take material goods. Long story short.... I've gotten cookies, cheese, gift-cards, and a free massage.....
  18. If it is going outside then definitely use 751 if it is going to be an unlit sign. When you say plexiglass It leads me to believe that this is a lit sign, in which case you are looking for a transparent/translucent vinyl. As for localized pricing, that is a market based thing. Depending on what you are talking about by me the market price may be between $300 and $1200+ between potential scenarios.

    New from NJ!

I'm not sure about the difference in the model names, as I'm thinking nothing has changed in years. As for static, I think your setup is going to help. It should mitigate a lot of the risk of static causing mis-runs and stoppage. Unfortunately it will likely still have some issues with humidity and static so long as it is not internally grounded. Also, a drier sheet placed in the roll might help. The MH series is notoriously temperamental.
  21. Id look to charge maybe $250 for the lot if it were cast. $360 for the reflective job (If this in indoors and not going to see abuse I'd use Oralite 5300. If this is outdoors I order 5600 and eat the difference in cost to have leftovers on hand). Rural PA pricing (and going in somewhat (cheap?) because of the simple nature of the job)

    New from NJ!

Welcome in from NJ/PA mate. I have a MH cutter from years ago that I cut my teeth on. The comments above are right about it making you appreciate a good cutter, but it certainly is capable of fair quality once you get the hang of it. See you around!

Help with removing Vinyl Tunnels pre-cut

This problem is more prevalent with the metal types of vinyl I commonly deal with. (If they are rolled too small, or sit too long) Option 3: If the tunnels are small you probably can actually cut it just like that IF the head doesn't strike while passing over. Option 2: See if you can take a teflon squeegee and gently coax the tunnel out the side. Option 1: With two people, have a friend pull half the sheet up off the backing and then work it back on inch by inch with your finger (swiping motions). Then repeat for the other half.

    What vinyl to use ?

I've seen 651 hold up on fresh water boats for a while, so 751 should be even more capable.
