  1. Good looking signs and nice to see one with a little creativity.  I've been making a some with pretty boring looking real estate logos.    Your design could also make a neat & matching business card for them.

  2. Locking is cheating.  Penalty for cheating:  you don't want to know...too frightening to say out  loud.

Sorry I didn't get back to everyone.  Everything is well, my internet has been down for a while and now my laptop is at the service laptop place.

We only had a few trees down, nothing to write home about.  I can't believe this storm has hit our state four or five times now.  THANK GOD it wasn't a big hurricane, can you imagine?  must be some kind of record.

    Ok, tag you're it!

WELCOME back Grace....are ya drying out?

    We're next

  3. Your right Regis, it's coming..... it's gonna get to me before you.

I'm in the bend on the Suwannee River. I think you are in the panhandle, right?

It's raining real hard now, just started about an hour ago.

Gonna be a long night..... the wind is really whipping now.

Our horses are upset with the wind, I'll be out checking on them all night long.

A scared horse can break any fence. And I can not keep one in his stall, he goes nuts if he

feels like he can't get out. I'll probably give him a tranquilizer if it gets really bad...... maybe I'll need one too- ;)

I heard thousands are without power in south Florida. Maybe that's why Grace is out of touch.

I hope not, it's miserable without the a/c & lights. The whole cut off from society feeling sucks too.

Yep, all the way over in Pensacola.  Now that it has started moving, I hope it sppeds up and goes quickley by both of us.  Didn't know that you could give horses tranquilizers for a storm.  Be carful.

Folks up in the Carolinas and north Georgia need rain but, it looks like it will head across the norhtern gulf.

  4. I've said "Postal Money Order or PayPal only" for a few years now and ebay never pulled one of my listings.  One very good thing about ebay is that if, for any reason, you don't like it, just don't use it.  I've gotten aggravated a couple times and stopped selling then had something that would do well on ebay so I started again.  I guess if I owned it, then it would run perfect.....but, then again I don't want all that income [lol].

  5. Ahhhhh - cool nights.....I think I remember them or,,,,,,,, was it just stories I heard about them.......hard to imagine with our 80's at night and 90's in day.......

Don't want to live in North Dakota again but, Florida is overkill!!!

  6. "Somewhere" in past years I saw a chart about what letter sizes should used be for clear reading at different distances.  For example if a sign is going to be read from sidewalk it shhould be 4"(?) tall but, if from 50 feet, it needs to be 8"(?) tall.  Or 50 yards needs to be 12"(?) tall.

Does anyone know whaere I could find a chart like this or some formula to properly set sizes?

    Thanks,

    Regis

  7. Looks like the worse part is the west/gulf coast of south Florida.  So you "should" just get thunder storms for several hours.  Still tropical and not hurricane and hope it stays that way and keeps moving on (not stop in gulf for hours....)

  8. I can only imagine how scary it has to be.  The worst we get here is a tornado and those are far and few between.

    ((hugs))

    Jenny

Tornados?  When hurricane Ivan hit here (Florida panhandle) there were some 130 tornados reported just east of us in Ft. Walton/Panama City area.

The last one we stayed for was Erin in 1996.......now it's off to Tennesse when there is even a slim chance of more than Cat-I comming into the Pensacola area.    In the eye of Erin, I went out and put the top back on my chimney and secured it with everything I could.  In the eye is very very strange.....especially when the storm lasts 20 hours or so.

  9. Grace,

Don't know how many shutters you have but, unless you are in the keys, you should see a few breakes to get some put up.

I'm up in the panhandle and checking it every morning & evening.  It's not "supposed" to get over this far but, cars are full and supplies ready.

Our prayers are with all in its path.  Check-in with us when you're clear.
