...yet the world did not so quickly recognize her brilliance or stealthy demure ...as those wise minions such as RegisG watched their fallen companions grappling in literary despair at RegisG's utter genius stayed afloat in the slippery wake of her intellectual aptitude. Gotta send that one to my wife....no,,,maybe magnet for the side of my car,,,,no maybe my first billboard...yeahhh

Once upon a time there was a 'gracfull' 'writer' that managed to convince several other writers around the world to enter a writing contest and they....huffed and puffed and wrote all the way home....aaaaaa

Thanks all. Between cutting letters individual and 1/4" overlap (when absolutely necessary) I can move forward. No one looks at 30" letters from close up so the overlap shoul never be noticable. Regis

I have a chance to do a sign that will have letters nearly 30" tall and I have some questions. - Do you overlap the 2 peices of vinyl or butt against each other? If overlap,, how much? - Do you make them join in the middle or cut 23" on one and the rest on another tile/sheet? Thanks you, Regis
-
Yep, did think of that but, the M is 27.25" wide anyways. Figured I'd try to learn the best way now because I'm sure (well hopefull) that more large graphics will come my way. Even though this probably won't happen much on letters.

Yes. SBE (or any s/w that I know of) will only cut vector images. You must vectorize 1st. In SBE you can do that successfully on some images by converting to Black & White then Vectorize. I believe these option are under the image menu. Otherwise, you need to vectorize in AI, Corel, InkS, or other software. Regis

I'm still starting up my sign company. And part of that is developing the logo design. I'd appreciate some comments/suggestions/criticisms on these 2 styles of saying Kool-Signs. Thanks, Regis

Wow, it's pretty KOOL to have an artist jump in with something kool like that. What software did you create that with? Or was it already a graphic with the snow on top? I had tried some ice/snow but, just put on each top of the K and it didn't look good at all. Your's looks really great. Thank you, Regis

If you make a design with red, blue, and green components, you might choose black for your registration squares. Then, in the cutter screen you would also select black when you cut each color (cntrl select). the registration squares appear in each color cut

There are a couple in this link http://forum.uscutter.com/index.php/topic,2413.0.html And then do a search

It would be good to watch some of the weeding videos. If you have not done this before, it takes some practice. Best of luck.

IF...it would only print on vinyl!

Works just as described. I was not deleting the original graphic. And sure enough, I can do the 3 color trace just like you did earlier. I could not make the 8 color/layer work but, believe I just ran out of ram for that (and wouldn't use it anyways). Thank you for taking the time to "drag" some of us through user problems. And I've got nearly 30 years in graphics (I even taught Harvard Graphics for a few years ...if you are old enough to recognize that! Thanks again, Regis

I'm having same....there is no export to .eps from Inkskape. Can "save as .eps" but, can not import into SBE. I can import the saved fine into Corel but, not into SBE. What could I be doing wrong? Regis

Ken, That was quick! What s/w did you use? Thank you, Regis

Not just you....great work except for reading the ph number. May just be the photo though Regis

Tracee, I was having some similar setup problems. After blade adjustment and re-adjustment (to get it right), then upped the pressure to 120, the next suggestion (from this forum) that made EVERYTHING better on my PCUT was to slow it down. I first dropped to 30 and it cut perfect but, made a lot more noise (and not a good kind). I bumped it up to 40 and "I'm a happy camper" and all works well. Regis

I've been using SBE for about a month without a problem (well, not with the s/w anyways). Last night I went to cut and nothing appeared on the cut screen except small box in lower front corner. I found out that now, I have to "select" the whole image before going to cut screen. Then I get the list of colors to choose what to cut. Is my SBE corruped now or is there some setting that I messed with accidently? Or? Appreciate any help/tips, Regis

Fixed my problem. In cutter setup, I reloaded the default and it corrected problem. Don't know what happened but, glad it's fixed.
