Kool. I too would like to see it after you install.

Joe, Welcome. Glad to have you join. There are lots of helpful folk here.

Is there a vinyl that will work smoothly on compound curves of motorcycle helmet? How about Oracal 651? Do you need to heat or is there one that will simply streech? Is wet best? Thanks, Regis

cg, Do you cut your seams whith the backing still on? Or, as you apply? Or plann/cut while flat on table? Thanks for the tips

Are you using stencil vinyl? If so, make your box. Then put your text in front and punch through. If you intend to paint a box border, place a maller box ontop the 1st box before you place text. Then you should have a border.

Now that's a lot of weeding. Nice clean and straight. Did you do all at once or several lines at a time? That is the kind of work I've been getting and it takes me a LONG time to weed small letters (1/2" - 1"). Over 2" I can do pretty easy.

Pretty kool but, could not get into SBE. Opened .png in Corel and then could get to SBE. One I tried would need a lot of hand work before I could cut. Would be good for printing though.

Sure sounds like you have a bitmap. How did you trace tractor? Are there any warnings when you go to cutter? Are there any X's in the upper left of the cutter screen?

First for this topic.. Its not Vinyl, But it is from my plotter.

Check your local newspaper printer. They sell short rolls here (too short for next run). Usually $1/roll various widths. -
Now, if that is a start, is that going up or down??/

Where to get prices for banners printed??
RegisG replied to Dellrose Custom Lighting's topic in General discussion
I have/had the same situation. I got the names of a couple small sign printers and have built a working relation with one of them. He gives me a discount and I don't have to turn down some work where full color is part of the overall service. No sign maker in an area will get all the work so, this way, he makes some income from some of my customers. my 2c Regis -
Should I leave it in car or not? Temperature Issues
RegisG replied to JoeCamaro's topic in USCutter Refine Cutting Plotter Discussion
If you decide to leave in car, then be sure to let it sit inside for an hour or so before turning power on. Give a chance for any condensation to evaporate. I do same with most every electronic that is not specifically made for portable/travel use. -
If I tape first, I get my alignments right. With wet only, I'm having trouble with precise alignment. Sooo, is there anything wrong or any problems with using a combination of wet & dry techniques? .... In other words, I'm taping the top of vinyl (with backing) inplace on substrates, lift & wet (rapid tac), then remove backing, and finally big squegee down inplace. It's nice to do wet when eyeballing alignment is ok. But, accurately placing (for me) is difficult wet. Thought,,,comments? Thanks, Regis

I don't what he is using for s/w to convert but, have him send same image in both vector and .jpg. Then you can look at both in SBE to see which is cleaner. Regis

That one is definately better but, the text is still a bit choppy. It is pretty small and you have to select-all and group before you change size. This one is already vectorized (unlike the 1st one) so you don't have to do that. Depending on the final size, you may want to try cutting this one.

I opened in SBE. It is pretty choppy. Convert to b/w & vectorze doesn't help. I thing it would be easier to re-creat this one than try to smooth it. Regis

John, that's quite a peice of work. I'm just learning enough to appreciate how "big" of a challange that is. Did you say that you peiced it togather? Like a 32" base cut on a 24" cutter? Is that what you meant?

Well, this discussion encouraged me to get 2 more lots of 60 degree. I think I'm set know......looking for enough business to wear out all 3 packs of 60 degree. Funny thing ($11.05, $2.76, $5.33), I hope the average is what USCutter needs to keep selling them. Regis

Really like that batman & the color you choose. Kool font on the name tooo.

Kool site. You can copy right into SBE, b/w, vectorize, size & cut...if you want to. There is just soooo much clipart everywhere it is difficult to keep organized. I have tons of corel but, it's not really suitable for vinyl cutting.

In the instructional video on 2 layered signs, it shows a key (diamond or square) in each upper corner. I just put 1" square in each upper corner (in different color). Then with each color I also select the squares color and have the key on each layer. Best to watch the multi layer videos (link in instruction section). Select the object. Go to image drop down and select mode Mono. Then select vectorize (under image menue). You'll have to copies (2 colors) . One will cut the other you can delete added: I did make assumption you were in SBE....
