  1. I won't touch tint. Hate the stuff, I tried doing it a handful of times and I just cant get it on without bubbles.

There are a lot of tint places around here. Yes its illegal to have your front windows tinted but the cops don't really bother you about it here.

  2. Does every car dealership in america have the authorization from every car maker to photograph and use images of their cars?

The answer is no! If you take a photograph it is yours to use however you choose. As long as it does not degrade the product in any way and you can prove that you took the photo you will have no problems with this.

  3. Tell her that as long as she offers happy endings she doesn't really even need a sign, men will find her! lol

    Seriously tho....

I bet she requires payment for her services and so do you! How would she like it if she gave you a massage and then you told her that you like the massages better down the road so you're not going to pay her?
Try and politely tell her that and also mention that it is not your fault that she had to put it on that window and you can't control what the neighboring store does.

If that doesn't work tell her she will be getting a call from your lawyer.

Always make sure to get a deposit up front for your work. Make sure that it is enough to cover your material cost and some of your labor. I usually ask for half up front, that way if they do this I at least covered my costs.

  4. Start with a higher price, you can always go down. Never start low, you will constantly wonder if you could have made more.

I would go with about $850 for the job using the intermediate vinyl, If he doesn't like that price tell him you will crunch the numbers again and see what you can do to help him out.

Then offer him a deal at $650 and let him know that you are pretty much giving the job away and that you are doing him a favor and hope that he brings in more work for you from elsewhere.

    Good luck!

  5. So I still ask the question (since this seems to be the thread that will never die). Every day there are customers supplying printers all over the world with print ready artwork to print sell sheets, flyers, advertisements, etc.
They typically put the logos of the brands of items that they sell on these things. For example, "Joe's Oil Lube" says hey lets mail out some post cards so Joe calls a graphic artist and explains what he wants on his cards, Joe says that he wants a picture of his shop (which in the picture there are all sorts of oil company logos out in front) and the Penzoil logo in the bottom right corner. The graphic artist gets to work and puts this together for Joe, Joe then emails the print ready files to the printer and is delivered a finished product that Joe then mails out to his customers.
Am I to understand that the printer is the one who will be at fault if someone decides to sue? Or is it the graphic artist? Or Joe himself? Maybe the Post Office for mailing the illegally used logo? Just curious... lol

  6. I just did a printed banner for a customer that is 4ft x 20ft and I was thinking about how interesting it is to see what the price differences are throughout the country.

I charged my customer $350 for it and was happy with that price.

I am in New Jersey so I know that the prices here are higher than most areas.

    So....

What would you charge (a retail customer not an online sale) for a full color 4ft x 20ft banner and where are you from?

  7. Measure the width of a reference point on the truck (door, door handle, etc.) then import the photo into your design software, scale it to actual size and design your artwork. When done just delete the picture of the truck and you will have the artwork scaled to size.

  8. Watch out people, anyone who sells on Ebay knows how some customers are just flat out jerks. I had an account since 2005 with a store, kept about 500 items in my store at all times. Always had 100% - 99% feedback until one month. I had one customer purchase 2 separate things from me, the shipping option they chose which clearly stated that it was standard USPS shipping (not priority mail) and the items both stated that they could take up to 3 business days before shipping. I purchased the postage through Ebay 2 days after the purchase and shipped the items out, they claim that the items took a week to get there and because of that they gave me a low feedback on shipping time.

After being a loyal seller for all those years Ebay closed my seller account on me because of this. I called them a bunch of times and spoke with numerous managers who all said the same thing to me which was "Im sorry sir our policies are what they are and it doesn't matter when you purchased the postage or shipped it, a customer was not satisfied with the shipping time and that is why we closed your account. There is nothing that we can do to restore it for you. You will no longer be able to sell on Ebay ever again."

So as my previous statement said.... Ebay SUCKS!

My theory is... I remember reading a few years ago an interview that someone did with the Ebay CEO and he had made a comment that they wanted to try and get away from having the small sellers and only concentrate on having multi million dollar companies selling there so they can compete with Amazon in a bigger marketplace. I feel that I was unfairly treated. They have NO loyalty or compassion for their sellers, only for the buyers. They probably treat the big companies on there like gold but who knows.

Ebay has changed a lot over the years and never for the better of the sellers. They will continue to screw the sellers as much as they can until there are none left.

I REFUSE to do any business with them ever again and I urge people to do the same all the time.

By the way, this all happened to me about 3 months ago.

So far Etsy has been pretty good for me and the customers there seem to be much better than the bottom feeders over at the worlds largest flea market.

    BOYCOTT EBAY!
