Looks good. nice colors.

I have a decent desktop and a cheap laptop. Both do fine, but if you get into large files and designs, then the more RAM you can get, the better.
-
I grabbed.... Thanks

Anyone want to take responsibility for this?

That's crazy!!! LOL -
Way too cheap.... Just the time involed in weeding, set-up, design...... what if you make a mistake, will you even profit enough to remake one in it's place? And remember, most of the stuff that you will do is considered "Custom". I tell all of my customers that single colors in cut vinyl is cheap, but add a color and the time, set-up, extra vinyl all drives the price up.

How does the cloud work? Do you just register and then choose what drives on your computer you want backed up? Do you choose when to back up or how often? Does it affect your computer performance any? I would think this would be one of the best back ups since it's online and will be there forever, I guess??

Gettin warmer and movin from bedroom to garage(again)

And basketball tournaments!!!!! Makes it way better ACC!!!!! -
Figure your cost of material, then add your labor rate or how long it takes you to weed and complete...... cut vinyl is hard to price out..... you can charge $5 for something that is 12x12 and you can weed in 2 seconds, but take another design that's 12x12 but takes 30 mintues to weed....... you have to decide on what you think is a good, fair price..... Or, call the local sign shop in your area and find out what they charge. That way, you are not undercutting all of the businesses.

Same here. -
depends on the design. If I have a red desgin trimmed in black, I usually put black on bottom and stack the red on top....... go to you tube and type in "Stack multo color vinyl" it will shows some videos that will be real helpful since you get to actually see what's going on.
-
I do all of the above. I've never tried out Cloud, so I can't comment on that. What kind of heat press are you looking at getting?
-
What method did you use to stack your vinyl? Clear tape, paper tape with light box, etc?

Nice and clean.... were's the Mustang at? LOL -
Those are nice!!! What method did you use to do those?
-
If your jpg or any raster/bitmap is not high quality, then none of the vectors will come out as clean as the original. You will have to clean the image up manually, find an original vector, or find a better jpg file.
-
Sometimes when you vectorize something, it will put more than one line around the image. I find that Corel does that a lot. You can't even see it in wireframe. Just ungroup everything in your image, then drag each line to the side to see if you have more than 1 line there. If so, that's were your multiple cuts are coming from.

App tape roller (Built to do the work) PVC not allowed!
SignJunky replied to louis clarke ii's topic in Show your work
I have always used the BS to do all of my prints. It worked great unless I had small items. Then the roll would catch on the corners of the vinyl and rip them off the backing. Also, if using the BS, the roll is constantly rubbing against the print when applying tape. After the tape is applied, in your mind, you are not sure if the roll scratched the print or not. I've never been able to use a tape roller because most of my designs are bigger than 24" and I was not able to find anything that would really support or accommodate larger rolls.....I absolutely love this new set-up!!! Now, I just lay my graphic down, pull the tape across, then use the BS to run across the tape in one motion and done. Thanks again dude for one of the best pieces of equipment in a sign shop. -
I think your pricing seems fair...... the problem is that a lot of schools usually get items at a real low price from the bigger sign shops. I would stick with your normal pricing as you would do anything else. If they continue to do business with you, then you may be able to offer a better pricing on more orders....... As you stated, you haven't even figured in the design / set-up time plus the potential of messing up a sign or banner and having to remake...... plus maybe driving / delivering to school, etc...... I do agree with jfought..... if you want to be competive, just call your local sign shop and see what their going rates are.
