  1. Still nothing, no reply on my ticket or here.
  2. I am still waiting for help getting my cutter working. The last I heard from Ken was Sept 4th. I have sent him four messages on the complaint/repair ticket since Sept 5th till now. I saw where he posted that the radio shack serial to USB converter fixed my problem in another post, and replied that it did not. Still nothing. If I had to make a living with this cutter I would be starving to death right now.
  3. I didn't have any problems for months, then one day it just stopped working. I hadn't used it in a month. Nothing changed on my computer that I know of... I reloaded the drivers, tried everything I could think of. Even bought the new Serial/USB adapter, still nothing. Cam

    Please help!

Actually the radio shack adapter did not work. I sent a message and received no answer (dated Sept. 10). Last week we had no electric for 7 days, I live in the Cincinnati area, we were hit by Hurricane Ike. (go figure). I will send a new message on the ticket. Cam
  5. Thanks for all your suggestions, I'll see if ken can help me this week. Very frustrating. sigh, sigh, sigh
  6. It acts like it is cutting but nothing happens, I bought a $35 radio shack serial/usb cable made for vista, I have reset, tried all the setting combinations possible, restarted, reloaded. . . ANY IDEAS ANYONE?
  7. So I have the serial to usb hooked up everything is set to match, it shows as a com port in device manager and it still will not cut.... any ideas?
  8. I totally appreciate your posts but my point is by now US CUTTER KNOWS there is a problem, why aren't they including the $3 serial to USB adapter? Why are so many people going through this? I will order the adapter because I am out of choices, I should be able to sit down, plug it in and it works. I reloaded the drivers, everything suggested, tried a different USB cable (that I know works). Everything was done right the first time because I have been using it on and off for months. Usually I can get it running pretty quick. This time it simply will not recognize the cutter, it sends the plot but nothing happens. The cutter does a test cut by itself to perfection. No communication between the two. Very Very frustrating, if I depended on this machine for income I would be beside myself. Cam
  9. Per my previous post in July I have been making signs for 30 yrs. I was in on the ground floor of vinyl signmaking. There is a serious problem with this system. I would not recommend it to anyone. I only use mine a couple times a month (I bought it in March, I also bought one for my son). Every other time I go to use it it takes hours or days to get it running again. I have been at it all night, I thought I would come home from work, pop in here and cut thermal for a tshirt for a young friends birthday. NOPE, I will be up all night trying to get this thing running again. When I am not using it I unplug the USB, I am using a laptop and apparently it can't handle that. First off it freezes and shuts down signblazer when I hit send, then I get past that and it sends to the cutter but nothing happens. I reload everything, check with other cables I know work, reload drivers, restart restart restart to no avail. MY SON HAS THE EXACT PROBLEMS ON HIS DESKTOP USING WINDOWS XP. PLEASE DO NOT tell me I need to switch to a serial port or a printer port. I DO NOT have one... I have a LAPTOP. Why is this thing being made if it will not work with the most common port used in the WORLD? VISTA does not show PORTS in the device manager by the way for all those who keep saying look at your ports in device manager. Do you mean look under USB controllers? If 10 people come back and tell me one simple thing to do that makes it work it makes no difference. I have had it working plenty of times. I would sit down for an hour and cut out a few signs or some vinyl lettering. Two weeks later, sit down to do something similar and NOTHING. It is on the same USB, the same com port , nothing has changed except it doesn't cut, says its sending to the cutter but nothing happens. The USB port works fine with anything else I tried several different USB cables that work with other items. WHAT IS IT THIS TIME? I started doing vinyl cutting in 1983 I have NEVER EVER had this much frustration over a system. OBVIOUSLY I AM NOT ALONE... THERE ARE 20 PAGES of people frustrated with it and thats just this machine what about the others being sold by USCUTTER?? IS there an answer??? Is anyone else using a Toshiba Laptop, VISTA, refine MH721 and SignBlazer Elements that can help me?
  10. Refine MH721 March 2008 USB SignBlazer Vista Plain old Vinyl I am a signmaker from way back, however I only do it for friends and family now. I bought this cutter a few months ago and I have cut a few things (small) t-shirt thermal, some letters. Today I went to cut a BIG sign, flames for my 72yr old father's new PT Cruiser, I don't know what this thing is doing. It pulls all 104" of vinyl out. Ok, not prob, cuts a weed border... good, then promptly makes a loud grinding noise and moves the cutter all the way to the left as far as it will go and sits there grinding away. Any ideas? I used inspire and an anagraph ae75e for 15 yrs, I "upgraded?" because inspire would not work with vista and I wanted a smaller cutter. Thanks Cam
  11. I bought myself and my son both new machines with signblazer. I haven't had time to set mine up, but we set his up while visiting him last month. He does have it cutting, but the corners of the letters do not complete, he has to cut them to weed. He has a desktop with windows XP, Signblazer, USB hookup. He has tweaked the depth and speed and all that is looking much better, just the corners are the problems now. I have been making signs for 30 years, he has always been around and helped so he isn't new, but we can't seem to figure this out. Any ideas? Cam
