Aligning tshirt vinyl properly
CyberSultan replied to Aaron636r's topic in T-Shirts and/ or Garments
In my set of alignment tools, I have several sizes of Fiskar acrylic (see-thru) rulers that work great. Got them from Amazon for a pretty good price. -
Problem with COPAM???
CyberSultan replied to captonzoom's topic in Copam Cutting Plotter Support Requests
Never figured out why it would do that on occasion with SBE either. Sometimes it would work fine, then other times would go crazy. Since switching to using FlexiStarter with my Copam, have not had a single one of those issues again. With Flexistarter, the best driver I have found to use is the DGI OM-60 using my serial cable (my Copam is not one of those that had a USB port). The Copam driver they included in my version of Flexi did not work correctly. I emailed SAi about that back when I got Flexi and they said they would look into it (but never heard back or received an updated file). But the DGI OM-60 driver works perfectly for me, so I didn't worry about it. -

What cutting software are you using? I had the same issue on my Copam using SBE. Once I started using FlexiStarter, the problem completely went away. -
Where to order t shirts?
CyberSultan replied to ProteinPantry.com's topic in T-Shirts and/ or Garments
I mainly purchase from jiffyshirts.com, but am also setup with sanmar.com. Jiffy Shirts always has what I need, right now is free shipping over $75, offer discounts with orders of different sizes, and is only 1 day shipping for me. -
Schools are awesome! I am also doing orders for schools right now consisting of t-shirts, sweatshirts, and rhinestone transfers.

US cutter or a Sunie
CyberSultan replied to Radioactiveman's topic in Clamshell Heat Press Discussion or Support
You can't go wrong with a Sunie, IMO. Great starter press (I got mine for $280 delivered, IIRC). Actually, it's a great press period. I have two presses. My first was a Sunie 15x15, which is still working just as good as the first day I got it (and have done some very big jobs with it). My other one is a Hotronix 16x20 auto-opening, which I also love. I use my Sunie primarily as a backup at this point, but I did use it last night for a few sweatshirts and t-shirts because it actually heats up faster than my Hotronix and I didn't want to wait around to do a quick run. Hope this helps. -
If I have a lot of node editing to do, Inkscape is my first choice. Otherwise I'm normally working in Corel and their node editing tools works well.

Me too.

Having trouble with 631 backing not peeling
CyberSultan replied to barrypatch's topic in Other Materials
Nancy, I think the problem is not so much the tape since you are using HT55, but the vinyl and the backing. You may want to try applying some heat to the backing to see if that will help release the vinyl from the backing easier. A hair dryer or heat gun should do the trick. -
Although I only run my FlexiStarter on one computer, the dongle allows you to have it loaded on multiple computers.

I have done traces in Illustrator CS3, CorelDraw X4 and Inkscape. To be honest, I like the results of Inkscape the best (and it's free)!

I'm glad you got yours! It can start to feel personal when you don't get the samples others do. I'm using mine for white window decals (obviously lots of them - these rolls are huge).

My 792U sample should be on its way.

Unfortunately I've been getting a bit of the round-a-round with one of their sales reps. I have had to send a few emails back and forth, trying to get them to send me out the sample that I requested. I keep indicating the type of tape I want a sample of and they keep questioning if I really need the one I'm asking for or whether I need a different type. I'm asking for a sample of the 792U (which is a high-tack tape). I almost gave up on it after the last email I received. Oh well. I sent out one more response today...so hopefully I can get my sample soon.

Why do you feel to act this way here? :-

Ken, thank you for all that you did! I consider you a friend...and appreciate the assistance you provided to me since my very first purchase from USC. Please stay in touch and I wish you well in your new opportunities.

I was asked to do a banner (which I have not done before). Sounds good. They are requesting, however, to have a velcro tear-off banner piece that displays the time of the event (that way they can reuse the same banner later...but display a different time for the reoccuring event if needed). Hope that makes sense. What do you think my best option would be? I have some sample scrim banner material that a company sent me that I thought I would never use. It is so thin, though...it almost looks like paper. Would that be my best option...or can you buy very small banner squares somewhere? Sure appreciate any advise on this.
