guys hope you can help me with an annoying problem that has been recently plagueing my puter. seems everytime i download anything lately,pics,clipart,cd's,pics from my digi cam.i not only get the file i want but i also get a PVW file for that file.that is taking up extra space,and is time consuming because i have to go through and delte all of them.when i do nothing happens to the original file.i just delete the pvw files. this does suck as i'm sure you all will agree.i cant possibly be the only guy that has had this problem. can some body help me out?

what would be a good price for a job like this.i have another job coming up and really dont know how to price this..generally 4 hrs of work.i'm kinda slow,,,,and 4 colors.

ive been trying to figure out why my cutter wont cut the letters and artwork completely.it always leaves a small tag on everything.i changed over to a serial cable and port and no change in the cutting problems.

thanx for trying guys.i'm doing a media etch design on my truck window, and really can use any pic in any format. half tone in corel doesnt care if its vectored or not so any old style pic.promotion artwork from years gone by or an old wall art print will do.

the wife just installed a hp office jet pro 8500. now thw cutter wont cut. when i send a job to the cutter it says"cannot open device ,error initializing cutter." last week before this happened i would send a job to it and it would freeze.i shut down and restart and rest the cutter and it would work. help please...... asap

the wife just changed the usb port settings and it's workin now. other problem is ,sign blazer will not download updates. today this window opened up wanting registration info and codes. i just closed it then restarted it and reworked the art again. seems to be doing wierd stuff like that more and more. any suggestions

does anyone have experience with mactac films? i thought they had a film that would withstand heat and was used for a paint graphics mask.powdercoating i use cheap ebay vinyl now but it sux when working with multiple colors and trying to clean up the stickies after.

my wife and i are getting set up to do this now.i have a powdercoat shop and use the pcutter to make stencils.but weeding for little wine glasses or anything that has a ton of detail is time consuming and frustrating. so we are looking to buy a rapid mask system from ikonics for the detail and ease of photo imaging. we have a dealer for anchor hocking glass,libbey glass,and restaurant /cooking utensils waiting for an order. also looking to set up for an onsite application.outfit my toy hauler to make our shop mobile.

i just went through this thread and ....wow.thank you all.my wife and i are starting on a new adventure and really need the art. can i request some castles,fairies,and midevil like warriors?also anything in barbwire.

now when i try to use the cutter.it tells me the computer "cannot open output device.cannot initialize cutter" helllppp!!!!

when i first got my p cut i did some test stencils(once my girl figured out to use the thing)with a roll of white that i got in a 5 roll batch from ebay. they have not held up.the vinyl is now curlling up and shrinking.is it the vinyl?i dont know what brand it is.what do you pro's use? i figured at least 5 years exposed to the elements before this happened.

wow,thanx guys.i dont have any idea what kind it is.it was one of those 5 rolls and 1 banner packages.we mainly use it for stencils for glass etching but the ones i did for a test have been outside since spring,exposed 100% of the time to all weather extremes.and they have all failed. i also bought a roll of blue off ebay and it just sux azz.its wrinkled and shrunken and has air tunnels in it. for glass etching it works ok but is a p.i.t.a. to weed detail.after the sand etching we peel it off,destroying the vinyl anyway.what vinyl is a good resist for this process,and is it reusable? i will try the oracle brands next i have a set cut for a progressive mask for powdercoating as well but thats another story

is the rapid tac remover the same as what you would use to apply it?

i am looking to expand my offerings.some one asked me once recently for a stencil that is reuseable over and over again for airbrush work.i dont know what type to look for .also when doing glasses and beer mugs the most time is applying the stencil and masking.then the vinyl of course gets destoryed when i remove it after blasting. i also use the stencils for powdercoat designs.for this application i need a stencil material that can withstand short burst of heat.so the powdercoat flows out then i peal,clean the stickies off. and cure at 400 degrees for 20 min.in this case i think i'd need a type of masking paper maybe,cut out on the cutter and applied in the same principle. what does everybody use?

my fiance' has a friend that started a restaraunt.short story is she designed his logos and we etched a few beer mugs for him.now he wants us to tint the large windows on his restaraunt front.create a big logo decal for the front and some smaller ones for smaller windows.hours of operations decal for the door and also etch beer glasses for sale at the bar. first up is copyright.we dont know what we dont know. next ,where do i get window tinting and how is it applied? next pricing of the decals ,design work,and the pricing of the glass etching. i wanna make a real effort with this and make this happen.he is a friend and he is doing well and can pay the bill.but we dont know how to price it.since he is a friend i feel the deal is done i just need to know how to make it happen.

thanx banner john.thats what i needed ;D i was checking on window tinting.the guy says he has a priced quote from a window tinter in town and if i can match it or beet i got it .the decals and etchings are ours as well. he says he has a sample of what they will use and will let me take it so i can research it. hey beardown! do you have a source for the heavy duty storefront tint?

thanx again for all the help. as for colors and text size and such all that will be ironed out in the meeting tomarrow. we designed the logo.how do we lay claim of ownership? and as for window tinting,thanx for the info.i didnt think it would be much harder than decals to apply also there will be a sandblasted mirror etching in the deal. and lastly,the glasses will be supplied by the owner. i'd like to give a base price per case.of course i need to make it so he can turn a profit per glass sold as well as make some for us. we are just starting out in this trade i dont have a clue how to price things yet.are there any courses ,on line or not that could help me with this side of the business? or can i get some one on one schooling from someone here who knows the ins and outs?

how do you take an image created in signblazer and reformat into a jpeg file for posting on websites? i want to make a ebay store and cant figure out how to export the image to the ebay sale page i'm creating.

hi all.im new at this (totally),my girlfriend and i bought a pcut creation off ebay.you guys sell a lot of machines so i thought we couldnt go wrong buying from you.but i have a few problems i hope you can help with. first,the diagrams supplied for the assembly of the stand have many problems.it took me 4 tries to put it together correctly.my suggestion would be to have the manufacturer number each part and make a more detailed set of instructions. next, i plan on using the machine for a couple different uses.making signs and vynil cut outs for individual sale and also to cut stencils for sand and acid etching.i also have a small powdercoating business and will use it for making stencils for powdercoating purposes as well.i planned on using this in my shop as well as making it a portable set up to take to motorcycle and car shows to make and sell stencils and decals on site. that being said, i started to download the driver and the 2008 signblazer elements on the shop computer which is a stand alone desktop hp and stopped dead.after downloading the driver i went to install the signblazer and realised that it is a 1 download only program.this will not do at all. not only will i need to download this to a laptop for obvious portability but i also need to be able to download it over and over again to the shop computer as well for maintenance reasons. i have also purchased a number of different clip art programs to use with this machine and id like to know will there be a problem making the pcut work with these clip art programs? anxiously awaiting your responses.i just received 5 rolls of vynil and am just itching to play with my new toy!!
