Using a fax with NO phone line??

You dont need a printer, if you dont want to print the fax out. The only time I print out faxes is if it is a bid request I need to fill out, or a purchase or I need to review. Its all electronic, internal. For example: I use QuarkXPress mostly, so I have a fax cover page template I open up, enter all the info and go to "print." You will see in the print menu that there is a fax option. Select fax and it guides you through who you want to send it to, and then electronically faxes it. No paper involved. The best thing is it saves all your contacts in an address book. The same address book that you use for emails - it is cross referenced. I LOVE not looking up fax numbers. Just type a few letters of the person you are faxing to and pops up. But it works with anything you can print. You could fax straight from Illustrator if you wanted to.

    Opinions on logo

Good point. We already have an established website, so I will probably branch off of that for an information page. I dont' really forsee selling online, as I am in Alaska, and thus having vinyl shipped up already... and then would have to ship it back down to lower 48. Price would not be cheap. Mostly its for my local community.

    Common Application Tape Size

I started out with 6" perfect tear - 6" cause I needed it to be cheap. Works good, kind of curls up on the edges of the backing which I guess makes sense since it is a no-stick backer. When I do something bigger I just overlap it. Recently I bought some 12" clear to do 2 color with but I havent' tried it yet.

Using a fax with NO phone line??

We use electronic faxes. Saves a ton on paper. Get a fax modem, (bout 30 bucks) put it in your computer and use it like a printer. The "Fax" option should come up when you go to print a document. It is really easy to set up through Microsoft wizard. You don't have to pay a service for this, it is free. I get a little ring on my computer when a fax is coming. Its nice and it stores incoming and outgoing faxes for you if you need to pull up an old one.

    Custom Logos

I have had this problem more times than I want to think about. I used to be super nice and real lax about designing things for people and I spent countless hours unpaid in front of the computer. Now I tell people upfront that the logo design service is $80. That includes 2 hours of design, 3 choices to pick from and 3 changes to the design they pick. They get 1 burned copy of the design on a disc, each additional disc is $5. Final designs are saved in Vector & Rastor, Full color, spot color and black and white. And saved in several formats. This way they can use them for signs, garments, websites, any promotional stuff. After the design is finalized, any extra designing is $40 per hour, 15 minute minimum. And they are warned beforehand if they will be charged. Your time and talent is valuable, and needs to be accounted for. Oddly enough I have also learned that people expect to pay more for quality work. It is almost like if you don't charge enough that they think they are not getting a quality product. If you do decide to create logo's for people don't sell yourself short. my two cents!

  19. Exactly. That is why I am surprised it doesn't have adjustable pinch rollers. I love mine so far. **knocking on wood as we speak** I would be pissed about it too, grace. Sounds like you are at the end of your rope, and have a lot invested. I hope they can fix this for you!

    Wow Thats HUGE!
  21. Might be a good design feature to add to that model. Adjustable pinch rollers... Sure would save people some headaches. Doesn't that seem like it should come standard?? I know my Refine has them, not sure on the price difference between the PCut and the 24 Refine. But I know I went for the cheapest model I could find and It hasn't given me trouble.
