Just got done doing this today for a Xmas present for my wife's grandpa. This was the first etching I have ever done and I think It and out really nice. My setup is a smaller table top blast cabinet from tractor supply and I was using 70 grit aluminum oxide and pressure was set to about 60

Ill post pics soon, Im doing a etched beer mug with a marines logo on it for my wife's grandpa and should be done just in time for xmas, thank the dollar tree for 1$ mugs , ill be using 70 grit aluminum oxide so it should be a nice deep etch

I just purchased a US Cutter sc last week and finally go time to set it up today and try it out. This is my first time ever cutting anything on a plotter. I did two hawkeye logos for my wife and an atari sign to go on the inside of my garage door. I have a sand blasting setup and tomorrow im gonna try etching some logos on mugs

Thanks for the info, I just bought a 25" us cutter sc plotter and 12 pack greenstar starter kit and im new to all this, i havnt even had time to set it up since i work out of town allot, i am starting to do this so my wife has something to do since i work out of town allot. i also will be etching mirros and glasses and such as i have a sand blast setup already. within the next month after i play around with the green star vinyl ill be buying all oracal 651 colors

What kind of blasting gun are you using, did you do this from the back? I just bought a blast cabinet along with a hopper style gun and 220grit ao media and will be using it with my 26 gal compressor, how far do you hold the gun away from the object being blasted
Just sand blasted my first mug, it came out awesome !!!
