  1. I am dealing with the exact same problem and am getting very frustrated trying to figure it out. I am currently waiting on someone from US Cutter to respond to my post in the "PCut Support Request Forum" and/or respond to my online trouble ticket. I am approaching my 30 days, and at this point intend to send it back, because I am definitely not 100% satisfied with its performance. Good luck. Chuck
  2. Bump. Come on guys. Surely someone has seen this before. Thanks, Chuck
  3. Tried pressure 100, speed 50. Still getting the same result. When the blade starts at a corner, it tapers off to the right instead of closing the corner. When the blade starts on any other part of the letter, it does not have that problem. I also tried pressure of 110 & 90. No difference. I tried offset of .25 again. The corners come out rounded a bit. .45 seems to be optimum for the corner sharpness. Keep'm coming. I'll try anything at this point. Thanks, Chuck
  4. I've tried that. I tried offsets from .00 to .70, to include .25. The sharpness of the corners changed, but not the starting point of the letter. I got the sharpest corners with .47. Thanks anyhow.

    website creation software

I recently made this website: http://www.t2sunset.com/ using a freeware program called NVu. It s fairly similar to FrontPage. Easy to use once you get the hang of it, with many free templates available. I am looking for a good free shopping cart software if anyone knows one.
  7. When trying to cut out some letters for a 5" decal, my PCut would pull up the corners on some of the tighter turns. Once an edge comes up, it gets snagged by the blade holder and then pulled up farther. By the time cutting is done, the entire word is ruined. I am still trying to get this thing dialed in, so I suspect it is an improper setting. Or could it be the vinyl? I currently have offset at 30 and downforce at 100 and speed is 30. I don't know if these are good settings or not. I am still having trouble getting the image to completely release from the weeding and my corners are not completely square. They are a bit rounded. I don't know what brand of vinyl I have. It is some cut-offs I got from EBay to practice with. Any idea how to fix this? Thanks, Chuck
  8. Thanks for the reply guys. You are the best! I was able to solve the problems thanks to the tutorial in the link above. It was basically due to a combination of too much blade depth and too much pressure. However, I am still unable to get good square corners and getting the cuts to complete. From all of the posts I have read, these are typically offset problems. I have tried offsets in SignBlazer of .10, .20, .25, .30, .40 with none giving me fully cut out letters or nice sharp corners. It has a brand new blade and I have checked any nicks or debris. Can anyone please give me a solution? I will post pix later. Thanks, Chuck
  9. First off... I am a rookie. I have had my PCut for about a week and to this point have only cut out a few simple decal. I am pretty computer literate and can find my way around Photoshop and AI well but am finding SignBlazer less intuitive. After reading many posts about people loving SignBlazer, I'm sure I am missing something basic. I originally created this to have patches made. Now I have retraced it using AI CS2 to make it a more simple vector art work. I want to cut it in SignBlazer Elements, but can't figure out how to get color into the picture in the correct places so I can do a cut-by-color. It imports into SB in B&W with the entire center section black. When I switch to the line view, I can see the entire image and all of the paths, but I can not place color where I want it to go. I would appreciate it if one of you patient souls would take a look at it and explain to me what I am doing wrong. Thanks, Chuck [attachment deleted by admin]
  10. I want to decorate my kids batting helmets with the team logos. Any cool baseball images, but especially the hat logos for the Minnesota Twins, San Fran Giants and Texas Rangers would be appreciated. Thanks, Chuck
  11. Dude... You are the man. Thanks for the quick reply.

    finished my web site

My 2 cents... Lose the music. Not a big fan of noisy websites. What software did you use to make it? Detail please. I want to start on one soon. Thanks, Chuck
  13. Looking for some good graphics for my son. Any kind of rock or guitar related stuff would be great. I have already gotten some logos off of www.brandsoftheworld.com but looking for other cool stuff. Thanks, Chuck

    How do you handle fonts?

Mark, Do you have a particular font manager you would recommend?
  15. I just set up my new PCut and cut my first decal with SignBlazer. I have quite a few .eps files on my hard drive, but don't have any way of viewing the thumbnails without opening each individual file. Does anyone know of a good, cheap viewer that will allow me to see thumbnails of these odd file types? How do you manage a large library of graphic images? Thanks, Chuck

    Online Store

Is the entire site made by Zen Cart or is Zen Cart added to other software to complete the site? In other words, can you point us to all of the software you used to make this site? It looks great by the way. Thanks for sharing. Chuck

    Looking for Marines Font/logo

Does anyone know where I could find the Marines logo? I specifically just want the "Marines" portion to that I can design a decal around it. Thanks, Chuck
  18. Thanks for the encouragement guys. I am leaving town for a week, but hope to get it up and running as soon as I get back. I really appreciate how helpful this forum is. Chuck
  19. I just received my new PCut. Five day deliver!!! I must admit, after reading all of these trouble posts, I am questioning my decision to purchase this cutter, but I am going to give it a shot and see how well it works for me. I intend to use a dedicated older Dell laptop with Windows XP, but I haven't been able to find system requirements on either US Cutter or SignBlazer's websites. Is anyone out there using Pentium 3 technology on their PCuts, or will I need to hook it up to a better computer. My computer: 600 mhz P3 256 mb Ram 80 GB HD Just reformatted HD with nothing installed but Windows XP, SignBlazer and AVG Free Antivirus. I may add Illustrator CS2 later, if I find the need. Thanks, Chuck

    Newbie checking in

Hi all, I just purchased a 24" PCut off of EBay for mainly hobby use. I have been lurking here for several weeks and am impressed with the helpfulness of this forum... especially in answering newbie questions. I have also lurked at other forums that seem to cater more to professional sign makers, though the forum name does not indicate that, and was not impressed by the way they treat rookies. Anyhow, I am happy to be here and really appreciate how much help everyone is. I hope to be knowledgeable enough soon to return the favor. Thanks, Chuck
