  1. does anyone else who owns a laserpoint have a noisy cutter? whenever the carriage is traveling left or right it makes a loud rattling noise. it cuts fine, but i just saw a video of a pcut machine that was smooth and quiet. i also sometimes get a sawtooth cut on long straight cuts to the left or right. luckily they have been on weed boxes and not the finished product. just curious.

  2. when you are in the "cut screen", look at the collumn on the left side of the screen. just about center you will find a window to select how many copies you want. if you click on the setup button on top of the screen you can enter the size of your material and it will show you how your design fits on your material. this is all in the help file.

    hope this helps

  3. i definitely would not clean or lubricate any part of the cutter or blade holder with wd-40! it will gather dust and become gummy. if you lube the blade holder with anything at all, you should use silicone spray sparingly. besides i think the holder bearings are sealed to keep contaminates out, and that won't let any lube in either. i have over 15 years of auto repair experience, and wd-40 is evil!

  4. one thing i would suggest to save vinyl, is to put a pen in place of the cutter and draw your cut on paper. you have to set your blade offset to zero, so don't forget to set it back to whatever it was before when you put the blade back in. i draw the cut when i am node editing  a drawing to see what the cut piece will look like. after reading this thread, i will use it if i ever have trouble with my machine.

  5. this is a piece that a friend said she had seen somewhere, and i said if you can draw it for me i can make a sticker for you. she did, and here is what i made in signblazer. took me about 15 minutes to vectorize the sicle from the russian flag and turn the hammer into a martini. then about another two hours to refine it. i'll tell you it is great to have a pen to test your drawings.

  6. yep! one of the reasons i purchased my cutter from uscutter was because i could walk in and carry one out. (although i almost dropped it going to the car!) other reasons include, but are not limited to all of the wonderfull info i gleaned from this forum and the signblazer forum. everyone who actively participates, should pat themselves on the back.

  7. the black cutout was smaller than the red, so i lifted the black with the finished mask and laid it down on the red. i made a reg "bar" not dots. it is easier to line up. although i accidentally dropped the whole thing right after i lined up the reg bar, but before i could grab my squeege. luckily it fell right! er or close enough, it is off a little.

  8. wow! you are cutting at 60? that must be some thin vinyl!  yinyl comes in many thicknesses, for instance; i have some reflective material that is 6.7mil, but most vinyl (in my arlon catalog) ranges from 2-3mi. their fluorescent film is 7mil. as for pressure, my machine won't cut lower than 90, but for the reflective stuff i have to crank it up to about 150 before it goes through to th backing. hope this helps.

  9. that looks awesome! did you layer all of the vinyl before applying it to the blender? i just posted pics of my first two layer cut job on the signblazer forum in general discussion. it turned out perfectly. where did you get your flame art? was it clip art or did you make the art yourself?
