  2. Its not much yet, but i managed to get a hold of some open source (free) shopping cart software and so far I'm really happy with it. Be gentle, I've only been working on it for about 6 hours.

    Here it is:

Let me know what you think! As for the banner at the top, I'm still learning my way around photoshop, so its a work in progress ;D

is it legal to sell those corporate logos, and other copy written material? just curious. ;D

  3. i have been doing the latter method on small two color designs. they never match exactly but they look great anyway. i will "stack the vinyl only if one color stays inside the outline of the other color. you can see some of my two color designs in the show your work section. they are all "punched through" not layered.

  4. kind of off topic but I am just curious...how many among those on here are old enough to remember this:

you needed a pair of shoes. You went to the shoe store. Someone would sit you down, measure your foot..size and width, and fit you with the right size. Then you would try them on,walk around a bit,and decide if they felt OK. They always did.

Try that at walmart or the mall.

I haven't had a proper fitting pair of shoes in 20 years. I have extra wide feet.

thats why im glad to live in a small town... you still get a lot of service like that...

this is the reason i thrive on being self employed. i can give my clients that personal service they so need and deserve. granted they are paying for it. i get $45 an hour as a general contractor, and i do all of the work myself so i know at the end of the day, the customer got the best deal and the best quality for their money.

  5. welcome laserpoint brother! i too have nothing bad to say about the laserpoint. i was cutting vinyl within about two hours of unboxing my new love. B) now i can butcher clipart and abuse fonts like crazy! i would also mention that i have literally no graphics experience prior.

  6. ok... so i just spent the last two weeks learning about putting together a website with zencart. zencart has been around for several years, so there is a mountan of info out there. but you do need at least a basic understanding of html, and editing php files. i didn't have a clue. but i am smarter now, and my wife says she never sees me anymore. :'( hahaha lol i still have lots to learn but every day i learn somethig, and thats better than i was when i woke up that morning. i don't know about other servers but godaddy has an install link built into their hosting console that works perfectly. i baught three domains; .com .org and .info. the .org and .info domains are forwarded to the .com domain. i also baught two years of hosting with a secure socket layer certificate. this alows me to accept cc cards and paypal. as for software... everything you will need can be downloaded for free.

    hope this helps

  7. if anyone is interested i replaced the spring in the new pinch roller with one i picked up at mcclendons hardware. it is 1 5/32 inches long, 3/8 inch outside diameter, and is 028 wire guage. this spring fits perfectly and makes just the right perssure without making marks on the vinyl. thanks again to everyone here on this forum, for making it what it is.
