  1. So I just bought some storage units and am working on a new sign to put up.  The storage facility is called Outback Storage.  I would like some rolling hills over the name but wondering about copyright issues with Outback steakhouse.  What are your thoughts with the windmill, sun and rolling hills?  Is this too close to some other logo or do you have any suggestions or you think this is fine for a 4'x8' sign on a storage unit building?  Looking for any input, thanks!!!

  2. I was using the R Tape HT-55 with the 631 and the walls had a very minimal texture and I used a tennis ball on everything, maybe was a stain resistant but client insisted wasn't, customers always right haha, ya right!!!   I haven't tried the GS clear but so far love the GS paper and don't plan on using anything else for general 651, 751 or 951.  Thanks for the input on the GS clear, I will plan to stay away from that, I have R tape clear and it works ok for me.  I might have 3 rolls of 631, king blue, red and white, 15" x 10yd rolls all with maybe 2-3 yds used max for sale if somebody would need them.

  3. So for the last 4 years I have exclusively used 651 and 951 but recently had some lettering to do for a insurance office on the inside and ordered some 631, I had nothing but problems with it and ended up using 651.  I couldn't do anything to make it stick to the walls.  I know it was maybe just a bad first experience with it but maybe I did something wrong with it.....just looking for input on it.  Also I have been using RTape until just recently I ordered some greenstar layflat tape and I love it.  Its cheaper that RTape and from what I have used it for I don't have any problems with it.  What do you use for app tape and whats so good or bad about it???

  4. Here are the first 3 layered things I have done. Also what would you have charged for these, both just making them and install? Both are approx. 48"x8" and this dealership is a normal customer of mine that spends several thousand a year with me.

  5. So when someone that has a shop or out of their house says straight up they will make and sell you a copyright decal do you worry about it???   I asked them about a few including HD, Fox, Monster and a couple others because all the other sign shops around wouldn't because of copyright issues and they said "ya, no problem".  Do you care about these guys or not???

  6. I have a customer wanting a tree in a room with it starting on one wall and going into a corner and ending on the other wall.  My question is do you cut it in the corner or can you use your squeegee and get it to stick fine in the corner?  I will be using 651, it's going to be permanent.  Or do you think I should use something different?  I would appreciate any advice!!!

  7. slice&dice you win and even backing it up with a picture haha.  I had a bid in for the lighted yellow sign in your picture but when my boss bought the Backlot that sign sold for $15,000, a little outta my budget for it just to hang on my garage wall.  All the other places you listed are great places and I frequent the Loft and Playpen a lot lol.

  8. Looks great and hope you have a great show!  I wish my day job would allow me time to do something like this but not yet.

On another note, I'm not trying to complain or whine about any of your work but asking everyone reading this, when you do a show will you take decals/logos of any copyrighted things and sell just like the next guy is on the next isle over???   Once again, I'm not complaining about any of your work for anyone reading this but just curious?  I'm pretty new to doing any vinyl besides for a company that I work for and just want to start doing more on my own but the copyright thing makes me wonder all the time when someone asks my for something like that.
