    REALLY NEED HELP

ok, first of all, i have to let you all know that my english is really really bad, and that im really newb at using vinyl cutter. However, im a graphic designer by profession so i have no problem with vectors and illustrator... I bought a uscutter recently and after spending hours on trying to get it cut properly, i have no choice now, i need your HELP!!!! Seriously, you are my only option. It seams that everyone has the same problems with their cutter... Ok so, lets start with the begining. Im using Flexi 7.5 on Mac osx. The software works perfect, for what i know. My problem #1 is that the cutter doesnt completly cut some letter or graphics. Its like the starting point doesnt joint the ending point... i heard that we can fix it by adjusting Cut Offset option. I didnt see any difference, aside that now, the cutter cut extra form or circle into the letter or graphics, and it begin his cutting by doing a small vertical bar and then go up-left to execute the job.... damn. I'm lost. Problem #2 is when i cut small text or letter (helvetica, for exemple) that is a "square" font... it doesnt look "square". It doesnt look perfect, i can see some rounded curve. Same is true with Square or linear graphics... a litle square for exemple 1/2in x 1/2in, will not have perfect square corner... i dont know if you can understand me :S damn with my bad english i cant say what i exactly mean. Well, i have trouble cutting small and thin fonts... Someone here has probably already had this problem before... any advice? if someone could please help me, it will be REALLY appreciate! you can contact me here; v-dub4life@hotmail.com. If you have msn, same add. That cool be great too. Thank to all in advance!!

    An Issue with Cutting

i had the same problem last week. Its an offset issue. Try setting your offset to 0.010, 0.015, 0.020, 0.025, 0.030, 0.035.. until it close. Like Terry said, it seams that a lot of ppl set it to 0.025, but for me it was not better.. I was seriously deseperate... then i've tried with 0.010, then found that 0.015 works perfect for me!!! Now the cut couldnt be better! It cut awesome. You will surprisely happy when you'll find your right value.

    Bunch of newb questions!

Hi there! i have a bunch of newb questions. Here they are: 1) I wonder what diameter size and thickness of mailing tube i should use to send car graphic decals? They are usually 22" wide x 100" long. Is 1.5" of diameter is enough?? 2) How do i use the pen tool instead of a blade for doing some test, and not waste vinyl? 3) In Flexi, what the "pannel" is used for? 4) i would like to make me a big working table, with a surface that i can use to cut. what kind of material i should use? plexiglass?? cutting mat?? Feel free to post a picture of your working place! I wanna see your set up. Thanks to all in advance!

  15. Hi there! i have a uscutter master serie XY-300P, and Flexi 7.5 on OSX 10.3. I run into some issues... i really need your help. I tought i could be a great idea to have an official issues thread. So i'll start it with my actual problem... Some time, after the job is done, or even when its being cutted, my cutter do some random line cut through the design. They are not in the .eps files or in the graphic. When i bought this cutter i had the same problem, and contacted Desay. They told me what was the problem and how to resolve it. Apparently, i have to set a Current place, instead of using Original, and not pressing Enter until the graphics is 100% sent. When its 100% sent, i then press Enter to confirm Current location. It resolved the problem. After that, i had another problem. The cutter wasnt cut completly each letter, and cutting was kinda odd.. I resolved this problem too, by changing my Offset Value to 0.015. Now, letter are perfectly cutted. But since, i run into some other issues. Now i have that first problem back again. And, the cutter do a small vertical line cut (bottom right, about 0.5") before starting the job. Please, let me know if you know what may cause this. I've tried many options... I've removed each guide in my eps files as a test. I checked each of vector point in .eps file to be sure they were joined. let me know if you have any idea. Thanks and post all your issues please.
  16. DOH. I was seriously thinking that my cutter was a USCUTTER. I boughht it on ebay... Whats the brand of my cutter??? i dont even know tought.
  17. javascript:void(0);javascript:void(0);javascript:void(0);javascript:void(0);javascript:void(0);javascript:void(0); That is chinese to me.
  18. i bought it on ebay 1.5 year ago... i didnt had time to use it since.. so, im kinda newb to this. He his probablye the previous model of the acatual serie Refine, Pcut, Copam..
  19. It looks like an offset issue. I had the same exact problem. All my font or graphics was a lil distorbed and the cutting path was not complete. Its seems that we are a lot of ppl having this issue. Try many different Offset values, from 0.010 to 0.035. 0.015 works perfect for me.. now all my font, even small and thin, are straight and perfectly cutted. The junction between the starting and ending point is flush!

    REALLY NEED HELP

OH YEAH!!!! Apparently, everyone use an offset setup of0.025, but it wasnt working for me. I've tried many diffrent value, and i found that 0.015 works perfect!!! Small and thin letter are now very similar of what they should look. But now i have other issues. The cutter is doing a small vertical line cut before going up left and execute the main job... This line isnt in my graphics or vector at all. anyone know whats the problem?? What may cause this? THANKS!!!!!!!!! im so close.

    REALLY NEED HELP

What i meant is, when you cut small decals (let says 6 in wide) on a 24 wide vinyl, do you hold your vinyl from the edges? or you bring your left holder in the middle of your vinyl to hold it more tightly?

    REALLY NEED HELP

Here is another point. I always cuts on a 24" wide vinyl. I dont know how you call this part in english (the vinyl holder), but i always hold the vinyl from his edge.... even when i cut 4" graphics.. is that corect, or i should bring the left holder closer to the right one??? Is this may cause the distortion in my small or thin letter??? We seriously need a thread with all issues.. im about to do it hehehe. later!
