    Problem with MH871

The computer is brand new. It is Japanese OS with the English pack running, maybe that could be the issue? Also I'm running the serial cable and I set all the settings like said, but I think my COM1 setting on the computer keeps going back to None verus Hardware, could that cause this issue? Not sure what else to try except buying the XP English OS and trying that, do you think that will fix my issue? Thanks for everyones help, really need to get this fixed.

    Problem with MH871

I looked at the issues people were having with Vista, but it didn't seem to match my issue. I'm using the serial port as suggested and the program and the the cutter are communicating. When I cut a smaller project Ihave no issues, but a larger project starts cutting crazy. It cuts about 1/3 to 1/2 of the project then starts to cut a line at an angle to the right and goes to the end of the cutter itself and then feeds the vinyl out till I reset the cutter. Could this be because I'm using Vista or the fact that I have the cutter on an alumium rack? I do have a rubber mat under the cutter and have grounded the cutter to the rack, but not sure if that could be it. The cutter was working great with the laptop in XP on the cutter stand but as soon as I hooked up the desktop with Vista and the serial port on the alumium rack it started cutting crazy.
  3. I have been running my plotter on a laptop with XP and have had no real problems. I decided to upgrade to a desktop running Vista and now the problems have started. I was using the USB contection on the laptop and changed to a COM serial port on the desktop. If I do a small project about 6x6 inch on the desktop it cuts fine, but if I do a larger project it only cuts about half of it before the plotter runs all the way to the right and then feeds the vinyl out till I hit the reset. Also the cuts are all over the place. I am using SignBlazer. Please help me I have several things I need to cut and and can't get them to work. Also I changed from the stand that I got with the plotter to an alumium rack with a rubber mat under the plotter. Could that be my issue? Thank you for any help.
  4. I am new to cutting with a plotter and am running into one issue. I purchased a MH871 and when I do a fine detail job the blade or the roller will grab and pull the cut off the vinyl. I tried several times with different pressures on the blade and speeds. I also tried both a 60 and 45 degree blade with the same effect. I was trying to cut a round border that came to a point in the middle on both sides but it pulled the points up and destroyed the border. Also I am trying to run at 120 with pressure at 80, is this good? Thank You Chris

    New to cutting

Decided to finally buy a cutter and stop doing all the cutting by hand. Work and live in Japan doing real estate and auto/motorcycle paint and this should help out both.
