    Debating a lifetime license...

That layout behavior confused me at first, too (I've been working here only a short time, I'm not the original software author). But you can rotate the view for a more 'natural' view. However, the design seems very logical if you think of it, from a cutting perspective. Consider standing like so: ------ Plotter ----- You Then, you feed in vinyl from the left, and the result comes out to the right. Just like how it's shown in SignCut!

Well, this board seems pretty dead, so I'm not sure about that

When you save the file in Illustrator, you know that drop-down that asks for the version of Illustrator you want to save for? Try saving it as Illustrator 9 or Illustrator CS and see what SignCut does with it. Sometimes those older formats have better compatibility with other software. You know when Adobe changes the format, they don't tell any of us about it. So unless we know there's some problem we can't just guess what has changed with the importer. If you wouldn't mind, send me the file that is having problems to matt@signcut.net so we can have a look.

    Debating a lifetime license...

@CRD - I was actually just looking around on Google in a spare moment. I don't have much contact with Kimon. But I did notice that this forum was basically neglected so I thought I would jump in. I am not sure what you mean by a poll request, but if you have some recommendations or requests for new features, you're welcome to share them. I can discuss anything like that with the other engineers.

    why is SignCut CRASHING?

Hi Tomas, I am one of the software engineers who develops SignCut. It would help us a lot if you can help us figure out what's causing this crash so we can fix it in the next version. If you could send me a mail at matt@signcut.net, and give us the following information, we can investigate what's going on. Please send us: - Your operating system (Windows XP, Windows Vista, Mac OS X Leopard, etc) - Your plotter - Your interface (USB, Serial port, USB-to-Serial converter, etc) - The type of USB-to-Serial converter you used, if you used one! - What you were doing in SignCut when it crashed! Thanks.

    Sign-Cut 4 hour support

Sorry to bump an old thread - I'm a software engineer at Whisqu Graphic (the company that develops SignCut) and I found this thread while looking around the web to see if I could find any mention of software bugs, etc. Sounds like you've had some problem with the support. Obviously something went wrong with your support process. I'm not a support person (as I'm the programmer) but if you send me a mail at matt@signcut.net I will happily pass it along to our company owner. I am sure he will want to get in touch with you to figure out what went wrong and prevent this from happening again.
