  1. They are about 20" high and about 36" in length. I roll into into a tube then hold the inside to tighten it down to fit in the 2" tube. I can see it start to ripple up which concerns me. I thought maybe I needed a large diameter tube.
  2. I have been having trouble with rolling decals. I have rolled them to put in a 2" tube but the decal gets wavy even when I roll with the decal on the outside. Is the tube to small or am I just being a brute with the decal? Any suggestions?
  3. Well good news! I followed the suggestions that I received. I added a grounding wire to my MH-721. The file lasted a little longer before failing and doing the same thing as I stated above. So as suggested, I looked at the file. What I was doing while in Corel Draw was exporting the file as a .plt file. I would then open the file in X2-Cut. It looked fine on the screen but cut very slow and ALWAYS messed up. My quicklink to send files directly from Corel Draw to the cutter was not working so I got help getting that up and running. So with fingers crossed, I send directly from Corel. SUCCESS!!!! Not only did it cut quicker, it also did not mess up. Damn the .plt file!!!!! Thanks for the help. Mike Stickywalls.com 117 S. Buzzing Noise of Doom

  5. Hello I have a MH721. I use XP for the operating system. I created an item in corel draw and exported it as a .plt file. I then try to cut it on the cutter. It is working fine and about a third of the way through the blade carriage assembly moves all the way left until it hits the inside side of the cutter buzzes for a moment, moves and cuts a straight line down until it comes to the right hand side where it again buzzes. At this point the origin is changed and it starts cutting again but now everything is all off and the horizontal line is not helpful either. Anyway, I am looking to get this corrected. Is it the plt file causing the issue? I used to have a link in Corel which would send it over to x2-cut software but that is no longer on the top menu bar so now the only way I see that I can do it is open the plt file directly in the x2-cut software. Please help! I got no responses on the forum and have a back log of work that i need to get done. Thanks, Mike Stickywalls.com 117 S. Cook St. #360 Barrington, IL 60010 847-489-2248
  6. Hello All, I'm hoping this is going to be an easy fix for the fortunate people that have been using the 721 model. I created an item in Corel Draw and use the X2 cutting software but I have a BIG problem. I open it up in X2 and it begins to cut just fine. About 1/3 of the way through, the blade assembly moves all the way to the left side of the machine (as far as it can go - I think the blade assembly wanted to jump off). A loud buzzing noise occurs then the blade comes across the vinyl and cuts a straight line for no reason until it runs into the right side of the machine and buzzes again. I have moved the origin on the machine about 3 inches in after the first episode and the item is 14x36 inches is measurement so I know I am not making that a problem. I am using a .plt file during this process. It goes on to start cutting again with a new origin. I have tried it 3x's now and am getting frustrated with the wasting of vinyl. I use the MH-721 with a USB cable. I am running version 2.16 of the x2 software. I thought this could be a problem or maybe the buffer because i only have 1MB of memory. I tried to upgrade the driver but when I go to the site and do the clickthrough I get that the page does not exist for the up to date driver. Has anybody experienced this problem with the machine moving to the extreme right or left in the middle of a job and then start buzzing?? I would like to get my order out but can't figure out if it is a setting problem or what.
  7. Beardown thanks for the quick response, ( the MH721 shall at least live 24 more hours) I apologize for my oversight.... I am using Windows XP as the OS, Using the SignCut-X2 for cutting...As far as settings, I used 4800 baud for USB on both plotter and USB port and the driver I downloaded from the uscutter website under download section (FTDI USB to Serial - Executable Drivers). For the LPT connection the baud rate is 9600 and I did not load any external driver nor did I see one for that purpose. Thanks, Mike
  8. I am new to the forum and a new purchaser of the MH721. I am a little disappointed with the fact that I am having significant issues with communication between the computer and the plotter. I have used other plotters in the past at former employers and have never had these types of problems with equipment. I originally set up via USB to my laptop computer which did not have a LPT port available. I set up as per the instructions that were provided and loaded the driver as prescribed from the uscutter.com website. The product worked but kept on losing COM5 (the port assigned). I looked at the forum to find that other people have had problems with the USB port and have to unplug and replug (see Topic: cutter not always available when ready to cut posted May 23, 2007, 09:41:16 PM) ...etc etc etc....which in my mind is ridiculous if you have new equipment which should perform great. I then got fed up with unplugging and reconnecting the the cable so I decided to connect to my desktop (which I might add cost me 1 of my 5 movement alotments for the machine - not happy with that either). I figured...Hmmm...LPT instructions make it sound like this is the "cat s meow way to go.... Well, I have sat here for the past 2 hours plugging, replugging, powering down computers, plotters, resetting and every other thing that I could think of THEN...I followed the "helpful' connectivity for LPT fixer suggestions. I checked the plugs, changed the cord, checked the ECP setting in the BIOS, checked Baud rates, rebooted everything several times, even moved my Adobe PDF writer off LPT1 so as to not have conflicts...I even checked the air pressure on the wheels and changed the oil while I was at it....NOTHING HELPED. I cannot send anything to the plotter. The plotter just sits there laughing at me and being a fireman with axes...well I'm sure you get the picture!!!! So after all this...I am looking for: 1. A fix for LPT use which I am completely baffled about and 2. A USB fix so I do not have to use the "remove cord and reinsert method" cause I have better things to do with my time between cutting decals. Please save my plotter's life! PS>:::Oh, the red light next to reset always stays on and when I reset I the carriage hits a little red button (not sure what it is for).
