I am wanting to do simple vinyl projects. My children's name to put on the wall, sayings to put on the wall, car monograms, and vinyl names to put on various jars and plates and that sort of stuff. Nothing heavy duty really. I don't want to spend a lot of money and I don't need to create anything super large. For what I want to do can someone reccomend a good cutter. $400 is about the most I want to spend. I am not going to to be designing anything really hopefully I will be able to get all of the graphics I want from here, ie...stick family people. What software would I need for something like this? If I mainly want to cut smaller decals 6x6 size, is it worth getting a 25" cutter or should I stick with a 12" cutter. Will I waist a lot of vinyl, or can I just stick a 12" piece in there???

Have another question! May be a dumb one, but someone please humor me! If I get a 12" cutter and my letters are no more than 10" tall but they are about 20" long can I turn the wording so that it prints out on my 12 " machine all in one print???

Yes this that is exactly what I am wanting to do! Can I use those graphics??? I think I am going to go ahead and get the 12" MH635. I am watching a few on ebay! Hoping to get a good deal! Thanks for all the help!! Misty

I have a small home based / internet based embroidery business. I am seeing these little car monograms at a few of the local stores. I am wanting to get into this! I am assuming a vinyl cutter is what I need. After that, I have no idea what I am doing. I want to be able to do the little soccer balls with your kids name in the center, same with megaphones and footballs! Can any nice person who half way understand what I am wanting to do, guide me in the right direction! I am not wanting to spend a ton and I can't imagine doing any large stuff. My friend had this embroidery company to do a 3 piece set -The word Merry, the word Christmas, and then a Christmas tree. She paid $24.00 and I think Christmas was about 2 inches tall and 12 inches wide. Could I get away with the 12 inch cutter? Also with any cutter can you do a 2 color project? Thanks so much Misty
