Five, I'm giving you advanced warning that Mr.Sgt is going to be less than pleased with you when I show him your printer and tell him "If you loved me....." Now I'm running off to research printers instead of adding items to my Etsy shop....

Dying for a laser engraver.... but at a cost of $10K for something that I can't drive to work, it probably won't happen.

Love the owl... I'm going to grab that one, too. Thank you!

I'm using Oracal 631 to create a ginormous logo for my daughter's dance studio. It's the studio logo - and will be approximately 8' wide by 40" tall. I know I have to cut the design in sections, but what to I set it to in SignBlazer so that when I weed the sections, they butt up against each other and not overlap? I have a laserpoint if that makes a difference.... Thanks in advance!
-
Thanks guys... will you be able to notice the overlap when it's on the wall??

I have lavender if you haven't bought it yet....

I don't even know what to call the images i need.....
FutureSgtsWife posted a topic in Graphic Requests
I search for "scrolls" or "frames", etc.... they're more like silhouette signs -- somewhat fancy. Where they can be made with chalkboard vinyl - so the black should be primary. Any help? Or at least tell me what to call them.... -

Thanks guys!! You always seem to have what I need!! -
Has anyone used the chalkboard vinyl?

Sign Warehouse carries it too. I'd be happy to buy from US Cutter if they offer it. -

Yes - something like this: There are some fancy ones, some horizontal, some vertical, some that look like signs hanging from a bracket, etc.... What do you call this type of graphic? -

I'm definitely going to buy some -- just figuring should I start with a 10 yard roll or go right to a 50.... I'm probably going for a 50 yard roll right off the bat. -
Sublimination - What do you know
FutureSgtsWife replied to Brandon_Davis's topic in General discussion
I have the Ricoh 7000 - which uses gel ink. LOVE it! I stopped doing sublimation for awhile because I couldn't stand the clogged ink heads with my Epson. EVERY TIME I printed. I wasted more money/time/paper than imaginable. Because I have TONS of inventory in stock, I decided to give the gel ink a try. Printer was very reasonable. Ink is comparable to the old sub ink. Costly - but that's the price you pay. I've done tiles, porcelain, clothing, plastic, magnets, etc. With the tiles, you place them face down so the heat platen touches the back side of the tile. Timing depends on size. You need a felt pad so that the tile sort of sinks into the felt pad and the tile doesn't crack. -
Sublimation can only be used on poly garments - and any substrates that have a special coating. I don't know what cromablast is though

What printer are you using now?? A Ricoh 7000(that I actually bought from Conde.). LOVE it!!!!! Seriously, I hated when people wanted anything sublimated. But now I'm turning things around day in and day out.

Vinyl Peeling/Transfers cracking
FutureSgtsWife replied to jibr's topic in T-Shirts and/ or Garments
I've only had 2 issues with vinyl peeling... 1st was very, very thin lettering - and I peeled it hot... when I let it cool first, it was fine; and 2nd was because I put the vinyl on a ribbed tank (not noticeably ribbed - it was only a 1x1) -- but when my daughter put it on for the 100th time, the thin lettering parts have begun to peel -
I can't see the image.... but I have a 16x20 press and many colors of heat applied vinyl.... feel free to email me if you still need help.

I've had a handful of different printers. Used ink cartridges, the bulk ink system, and now gel inks. HANDS DOWN the gel inks are easier to work with. It's an absolute pleasure to turn a printer on and have the colors print properly WITHOUT having to unclog nozzles, align the heads, etc. My advice.... order the biggest trays you an get (13x19) - because you will someday say "I could do that if my printer could print that big...."
-
Carl -- sent you an email... I double-checked and 11x17 is standard....
-
I do them, as well. I use the new gel ink system. I stopped doing sublimation for about 2 years because I hated the liquid ink bulk systems. LOVING the gel system. If Nat can't help you, let me know...

Have a wonderful time!!

How absolutely devastating... it's every police wife's worst fear. Keeping Beth and their family/friends/fellow police officers in our thoughts and prayers. There just aren't sufficient words to express our sorrow. Is there any memorial fund being set up that we can donate to? -Lisa & Erik
