heat press queston!!!!1

I do some sublimation - and that is expensive, relatively speaking. The ink is insane, the paper is costly, and if there's the slightest air bubble in the tube, you get lines. Very frustrating when you just want to pop out a shirt. I thought of buying a silk screening system - but I'll do that next year after the construction is finished in my house and I'll have a place for it. I don't mind if the vinyl is a little costly -- it will save me time and aggravation - and that's priceless. I can play around and try to have as little waste as possible. -
I got my cutter for christmas - and my first roll of vinyl arrived today. I've been impatiently waiting to get started -- and yes, even the smallest roll would have been great to play with for the week.

Those are great. Does anyone have a bumblebee (not a hornet -- a cartoony type of bee) or a dancer? Damn mascots.... haha

Jenny, We do a lot of the ceramic tile and FRP stuff. I love the sandstone coasters, too - and the small round candy tins. The shirts are way too pricey -- but not too bad if you want to do a photo. My son's friend was killed when his other friend was driving drunk. The family asked me to make 100 full color -- full front and full back - tshirts. Took FOREVER but they came out better than any other application would have allowed. I just opened my front door as my fiance was leaving and saw a box of vinyl on the porch. It's my thermo-flex.... sooo excited. Running to AC Moore to grab a few cheap tshirts to test it out on. I have 11 shirts to make for the police department this week. Jenny - where are you guys from? I live on Long Island. Lisa

Thanks Dave... I'll email her this weekend!!

Thanks Joe.... I current do sublimation (shirts, ceramic tile, plastic, etc.) - but I like the look of screenprinted over sublimated shirts - so I'll try the vinyl. Thanks for the info! Lisa

I tried jotopaper - and when I called, they said they would have to email or fax me an order form. That was yesterday. I've since followed up with an email to their sales department asking for an order form -- and still no response. I really wanted to try multicut for some police dept. shirts I have to make next week, but they're not making it easy on me....

:santahat: Hi everyone! My fiance bought me a cutter for Christmas and I can't wait to see what I can make with it! I currently own a sublimation company on the side (I work full time too as a Director for a corporate promotions company) - but wanted to expand my product line. I ordered some wall words from Uppercase Living - they were pricey -- and I figured I could make them myself for a fraction of the price. I can also make some stuff for the police department's soccer team and maybe some shirts or other items to include in our Welcome Bags for our wedding in Mexico. I've been browsing these boards - and there's so much info to soak up!! I'd like to make tshirt transfers and wall transfers to start with. Can anyone tell me what the best vinyls to use for each application would be and where to get them? Happy New Year everyone! Stay safe.... Lisa

Thanks Jay!! Never thought about my daughter grabbing a sharpie -- but she's 11 and she pretty much knows I'd kick her..... well, you get the idea! The pics look great! I'm so glad I found this forum and I've learned so much already!! I can't wait to actually get some vinyl and start playing. After wall words, tshirts are next... Uh oh, I'm already addicted! -
I'm just unpacking my new cutter and can't wait to try it out!! Your first cuts look great! Where can I find application tape?

Thanks guys! I did also get crystal toasting flutes for the wedding and some other fun stuff -- but I guess we went practical this year -- since I bought him "perp gloves" made of kevlar to protect him from needles/knives/blood/fluid from criminals. Hmmmm.... I'll have to run and read the childhood posts now while I do more research!! :thanks:
