  1. You'll have to tell us what cutter, what software etc... Typically, usb does not play well with cutters, either serial port or keyspan adapter is the way to go...

Let us know and good luck! Alan

  2. Well that's a blinding flash of the extremely obvious....thanks for the tip. It didn't occur to me to try the sticking vellum on the application tape.

I will give it a try in a minute.

    Thanks-Scott

I think missing the obivious is an airbrusher's trait! LOL Me and some of my artists are the same way! LOL

Keep us posted on the progress.

    Happy Brushin'. Alan

  3. Congrats and Welcome Chris! Lots of good people and good information here.

It really depends on what part of the country you live in, you're best to find a local supplier (to save freight and convience), and/or find one at least close to your part of the country, because freight sometimes can be pricey depending on what it is.

    Good Luck! Alan

  4. If you get orders with more shirts ( if you go with a heat press ) then you can either sub out that work, buy screen printing equipment or pass onthe order.

You'll be in the same boat if you buy screen printing equipment and get an order for say, 5 shirts, because it will not be cost effective to make screens etc for just 5 shirts.

It gets to a point to where heat press vinyl is not cost effective when doing alot of shirts but yes, you could do that, and it would take longer.

Not sure what ink you're referring to... I thought we were discussing heat press vinyl vs screen printing? If you're referring to the screen printing ink, you need to research the process some more because you make your design on a mesh screen and a squeegee forces the ink through and you just add the ink when it gets low in the screen.

    Good Luck! Alan

  5. I use an Epson Workforce 1100 converted to a CIS system with pigment inks. They don't make the 1100 anymore but you may still be able to find one and they do have an equivalent now but I can't remember what model it is. And I use JPSS paper and does a nice job. Alan

  6. Hmmmmmmm, you will have to be a bit of a detective to find this material listed on USCUTTER website!!!

Typing in "instabanner" produces no results with the search function, but looking around in Banner Material (rolls) you see a thing called GreenStar Two-Color.

There's a video there, showing how it works.

    Lots of pretty color combinations!!!

Yes, it is hard to find on the website but if you google it, it comes right up! LOL Where's that webmaster? LOL

  7. Looks good, especially the painted portions, just one thing... is it me or does the "food" not follow the arc from great? And I'm assuming you hand striped the borders?

Other than "food", the rest of it looks great! Alan
