Does any one have an English bulldog? Need to cut one out for a friend and haven't been able to find one anywhere yet.
Thanks, J. Gray

It wasnt as bad weeding as I thought it would be. It did take a while to weed all of the letters though.

Looks very good.

What are the typical settings for these units? Pressure? Offset? Speed?I have tried several different settings and still have some little tags on some of my cuts. And some of the straight lines are kinda jagged and I have to use a razor knife tu cut it apart.
Thanks, J. Gray

I have the LaserPoint and I ave cut some reflective vinyl, nikkolite or something like that, with it. The only thing that I notice wa that it didnt want to cut all the way through, but I am still learning.

Go to dafont.com and look under the fire/ice font page. There are several different styles that you can choose from. By the way, it looks good.

Ken, I tried another USB cable and it still did the same thing. I was cutting out the letters that are on the picture that I posted in my other post, and had a pair of them in the workspace to cut and every time it would just take off cutting across the vinyl. After it did this twice, I removed one of the lines of text and it cut just fine. So I dont know if it is me, my computer or the cutter. :notsure:

I like the font, really nice
Anyways, wont that font make it hard to read, specially when moving? Is it suppoed to be recognized from far away?
Dont take me wrong, I like the result, but Isnt a Emergency vehicle supposed to be easily identificable? Or are there any bold letters somewhere else?
It is more of just a formality, as we have to have this on our vehicles to be able to use lights and siren. TCA say that it has to be 3" letters, so instead of going with plain boring letters, I have been using different fonts for the lettering. As for being easily identifiable, we are in small rural dept., so everyone in the community already knows who you are.

I am having the same problem with my LaserPoint. It has done this on different files, graphics and lettering, and it does not do it all of the time. I can cut something out like a flame, and it will be fine and then I will cut another one and it will just take off down the vinyl and mess the whole thing up.

Here is my take on this and I might get a lot of flack but here goes:
If it's a government or private(for profit) fire dept...get as much as you can.
If it is a small town or volunteer fire dept, I would do it for cost. Fire fighters work hard, putting their lives on the line, for very little money..in some cases none at all. In rural areas, the smaller departments and volunteer departments are often operating on a shoestring and sometimes go begging for money. Sure,my time is worth something but I've had the pleasure of standing and watching while they put out a fire for me.
When I was in the concession business, firemen and cops never paid for food or drink at my stand. It was my way of saying thanks.
Of course, you can also look at it this way...word will get around about your kindness and you can't buy that kind of puiblicity or good will at any price.
Just my 2p worth
+1
I am on my local vol fire dept and we dont have a lot of money to spend on stuff like this. The fire dept has help me out getting some work with my primary business, which is installing lights and sirens, and I try to help them out as much as possible when I can. If it is a large dept that has a lot of funding, go ahead and ream them a new one. But just do it discreetly.

Terry, thanks for all of the files. This should be enough to get me started.
Thanks!!

I have about 50 of them, if you could post some kind of picture or drawing I could match it. Is this the style?
Terry, that is the type that I am looking for. Do you have any that have stuff like a fire hydrant, ladder, pike pole, and the likes??
Thanks!!

Does any one have any files that are of the fire fighter style of the maltese cross?

Dragracer, most shipping companies do move packages or freight on the weekends for the most part. If it had been shipped with a faster service, like 2-day or 3-day service, it would have moved out of the shipping terminal sooner. Hope this helps.
Thanks,
