  1. Ken, I tried another USB cable and it still did the same thing. I was cutting out the letters that are on the picture that I posted in my other post, and had a pair of them in the workspace to cut and every time it would just take off cutting across the vinyl. After it did this twice, I removed one of the lines of text and it cut just fine. So I dont know if it is me, my computer or the cutter. :notsure:

  2. I like the font, really nice :police:

Anyways, wont that font make it hard to read, specially when moving? Is it suppoed to be recognized from far away?

Dont take me wrong, I like the result, but Isnt a Emergency vehicle supposed to be easily identificable? Or are there any bold letters somewhere else?

It is more of just a formality, as we have to have this on our vehicles to be able to use lights and siren. TCA say that it has to be 3" letters, so instead of going with plain boring letters, I have been using different fonts for the lettering. As for being easily identifiable, we are in small rural dept., so everyone in the community already knows who you are.

  3. Has anyone ever cut any designs out of tint with their vinyl cutters? If so, how hard is it , and what is the best settings to use?? I am thinking about cuttig some stuff out of tint t put on the windows of my truck before I do it or anyone else and wasnt to sure how to go about it.

    Thanks, J. Gray

  4. Here is my take on this and I might get a lot of flack but here goes:

If it's a government or private(for profit) fire dept...get as much as you can.

If it is a small town or volunteer fire dept, I would do it for cost. Fire fighters work hard, putting their lives on the line, for very little money..in some cases none at all. In rural areas, the smaller departments and volunteer departments are often operating on a shoestring and sometimes go begging for money. Sure,my time is worth something but I've had the pleasure of standing and watching while they put out a fire for me.

When I was in the concession business, firemen and cops never paid for food or drink at my stand. It was my way of saying thanks.

Of course, you can also look at it this way...word will get around about your kindness and you can't buy that kind of puiblicity or good will at any price.

    Just my 2p worth

    +1

I am on my local vol fire dept and we dont have a lot of money to spend on stuff like this. The fire dept has help me out getting some work with my primary business, which is installing lights and sirens, and I try to help them out as much as possible when I can. If it is a large dept that has a lot of funding, go ahead and ream them a new one. But just do it discreetly.

  5. I have about 50 of them, if you could post some kind of picture or drawing I could match it. Is this the style?

Terry, that is the type that I am looking for. Do you have any that have stuff like a fire hydrant, ladder, pike pole, and the likes??

    Thanks!!

  6. Dragracer, most shipping companies do move packages or freight on the weekends for the most part. If it had been shipped with a faster service, like 2-day or 3-day service, it would have moved out of the shipping terminal sooner. Hope this helps.

    Thanks,
