  1. where can I get the new hardware so I can use the cutter? Please, can anyone help me?
  2. I haven't had much luck getting my problem resolved and so i am wondering how I can get in touch with US Cutter??
  3. Ok, and one more thing. I hope it's not a BIG DEAL! BUT, today when I was trying to figure this out on my own, somehow I deleted the USB serial port choice from the device manager and now I can't find it to change my settings.. HOW can I get that back because I know I will need it to change my settings???
  4. I have a Refine MH721 And I only have a 5 pt serial on my computer.
  5. I have never had an easy time with my cutter. Now when I want to use it I can't. The white "socket" usb thingy fell out when i pushed the usb cord into it. SO, I bought some cables to use as serial ports? Now I still can't get the cutter to work. I know I have something set wrong, but I HAVE NO IDEA how to find the correct settings. I am so frustrated. Can someone help me? I just want to make some simple things.

can someone help me get my cutter working??

    Figured it out....
  7. Everytime I put it away for awhile and then get it out again, I forget how to get it started. It will not print. As though nothing is being sent to the cutter. I have checked the port settings and signblazer comm settings and they are all the same. I don't know what I am doing wrong. My Red reset button light is always on.... No other lights are on...should my green set up light be on as well? I have tried EVERYTHING. My son has a school project due and I would like to put some vinyl lettering on it. Please help.
  8. I did read this, I don't understand WHY I need to set it to 9600 nor what difference 4800 will do...but it's working for me right now. I'll try to leave it at 9600 and see what it does. Also....do you have any recommendations as to the cutting force? I am currently doing 70..but again, I've only tried the cutter twice now. I'll have to mess around with some settings. Thank you very much for the extra info just "in case". I really appreciate it.
  9. From another thread...I changed to com4 port and reinstalled the software. Everything seems to be working now, (ie. I cut the "welcome" in signblazer.... the installation DOES NOT follow the installation booklet for windows vista....but I figured it all out. Thanks for the help with com 4. I don't know what that does, but everything works good now. I also changed the baud to 4800...again, I don't know what that does, but somewhere in some instructions, I read to do that. THANK YOU for the com4 advice. No need to call me....
  10. PLEASE....can I get some help from someone who has experienced the same problems I am having setting up a plotter to win vista? I think my USB cable might be bad but without someone helping me along, and I can't get ahold of the company as their voice mails have been full....and while I emailed them with my telephone # DAYS ago asking for help....even though I know they're a company and can't "hold hands" with every customer...I really did expect some kind of contact by now. Signblazer is working for me....I'm running Win Vista on my laptop...I have the 721 refine plotter...I am TRYING to use the USB cord as I have no other way to hook up any of the other cables to my laptop. I know from reading others'posts that there have been problems getting vista and usb cables to work...please tell me what you did. I am UNABLE to use my PLOTTER. Has been SITTING for 2 weeks here not being able to be used because I can't figure SOMETHING out
  11. I have posted 2 other "threads".. I am hoping posting this new subject will get more reads.. I am having problems with the cutter and signblazer software working together. I have MH721, bought it Oct 2?, 2007, running it on windows VISTA, on my laptop, trying to use the USB cable. SignBlazer. When I plug the USB cable into a port...I am not getting the "new hardward found" . I don't get anything. Could this be a problem with the cable? I'm hoping that I haven't done something right with downloading a program...which one, I'm not sure. Anyone with windows VISTA who has had a similar problem as me....not having an easy time at getting your program and cutter to work together, can you please try to help me? I have read the signblazer manual from online...I have read the little bit of help manual that came with the cutter and software. I would really like friendly advice. Thank you
  12. I followed these instructions. When i plugged the USB cable into my computer....no "new hardware found" came up. I've put in the little cd for the USB cable download in the computer...that thing is so confusing...I have no idea which icon to click on...so I tried them ALL..... I'm just not having any luck.
  13. MH721 date bought: 10/28?/07 operating system: Windows VISTA USB---- I think this is the problem I am having a LOT of problems trying to get my cutter to work with my computer. I have a laptop that I have downloaded signblazer to and I'm wondering if maybe I downloaded something the wrong way? I'm afraid to even put the disk back in the computer as the "warning" says that If I download twice...it won't work at all. Can someone who has windows VISTA help walk me through downloading this software (of which I already did and it SEEMS to be working fine)...hooking up the USB cable (this is where I am pretty sure I'm doing something wrong)...and well, anyways, I would love some help. Please don't be negative with me. I have read instruction manuals and went to the signblazer website....I'm just not too brilliant with computers, apparently. I have done my best to try to resolve this on my own. I have this neat machine I'd like to have fun with and right now, it's just a headache for me. I'd like some friendly advise, please Thank you,

I think it is very nice that people are willing to share their ideas and their work. This "project" turned out beautifully. Thank you again for sharing. It's going to take me a VERRRRRYYYY long time to figure out the SB software....I don't know if I'll ever get the hang of even the simplist of projects.
