Well I have not been doing this very long. I just got my second shipment of vinyl in the other day. They are small shipments. The first batch I bought when I got my cutter was off of ebay and it was 6 year intermediate. This stuff is strong, tough, and glossy. So far it is working out great for me. So it was running low so I figured I needed to buy some more. This time I went back to ebay and got some stuff from a different selling. It just said it was 7 year vinyl. When I got it the other day, I was a little disappointed when I pulled it out of the box. The stuff seemed real thin, it wasn't very glossy, and it ripped almost like paper. I cut on it for the first time last night and it cut fine. Weeding was harder and easier then the other stuff. It was easier because the vinyl ripped so easy, I wasn't having to carefully pull bigger pieces at once. Anyway, Just going off my description, is this stuff worth while. I haven't applied any of it yet so I really don't know what it looks like installed. Has anyone used vinyl that fit that description and had any luck?

Alright here it is. This first picture is the back of the stuff I am asking about. It has a white backing. This next picture is a ripped off piece of the stuff in question stuck on the vinyl I have been using and like. The skull was cut on the vinyl that I have been using. This vinyl that I have been using does not have any markings on it as far as brand. As you can see from the second picture, the coloring is totally different. I really don't like the eggshell type color at all. I like the bright white glossy that I had. I am new at this and didn't think there would be this much difference.

The auction that stickygrafix posted is from a different seller. The seller I bought from has a 99.8% rating for 900 feedbacks. There was one like kneal4747 mentioned that posted a negative for low quality product. I will get some pics tonight of the stuff and post it. There is one thing that I noticed on this stuff that might throw up a flag. On the backing on this stuff, there was a cutting grid just like you will see on contact paper. I just remembered noticing this.

CONTACT PAPER. Oh, I will be a little upset if that is the case. I will look at it tonight and let you know what I find.

I was able to change text height in SB last night. I typed out a multiword title and highlighted the words I wanted to change while in text mode and changed the height of just those. I didn't try to change one letter within a single word.

I want to take this image and make a vinyl cut out of it. I have tried a few times and can't get it. Can someone please help.

That worked great. It had a lot of detail that I was amazed that my cutter was able to do. You were right about the weeding. I wasn't able to get a lot of the real small stuff. I will have to go threw and clean out some of that small stuff. How did you create that. I was able to cut it without doing anything to it. When ever I create a eps threw photoshop, I still have to vector the image and loose a lot of detail in SB. This is what is looks like cut. Picture was with cell phone Thanks Matt

Tonight I went into some of my graphics and deleted the text from the photoshop images. Then I added the text in SB and it all looks a lot better.

I have the same problem when I vector images in SB. I am sure I just need to learn the software some more. But what file types are there that SB will cut.

Can SB do a test run. Sometimes I was to have the cutter run threw the paths without actually cutting to make sure I stay within my boundaries. I know I can pull the knife and do this, but is there another way?

I do a lot of traveling for work and was wondering about installing SB on multiple machines. I saw that it says it wont do it. But was wondering if this was really the case. I spend a ton of time sitting in hotel rooms and have my work computer. I would love to be able to create graphics while I have nothing else to do. Thanks Matt

What is the difference in the angle of blades. Does each one have a specific purpose?

What does the knife offset do. I saw it can be adjusted by .1 or .01 mm. What so those adjustments do?

I am using signblazer. I seen that offset setting but didnt mess with it yet. It doesn't do it all the time. Just enough to be annoying.

The hanger thing I guess would be not closing. I didn't know what to call it. It doesn't do on all of the cuts. But it really sucks on a small decal with a lot of detail. I am having a hard time keeping the material to track perfectly straight. I figured this might be causing it.

Would inverting the image do the same thing. Or would the size change to much from the thick outline.

I am interested in taking real photos and manipulating them to a decal. What are some techniques on taking a photo of an animal or such and making a image for a vinyl cut out. Software I have is Photoshop CS2 and SignBlazer Elements
