A template is a outline of the car to scale. Are you wanting it for vinyl print or just to cut?

looks right to me. looks like you are using a usb to serial adapter, should be no problems at all. I take it that your cutter is on line? you could try straight usb for a test. -

It would be very hard to do without laser. May just need to cut by hand.

as far as the update problem read this thread. http://forum.uscutter.com/index.php/topic,3868.0.html SBE should not be shutting down when you cancel a cut. Not sure what that is about.

Contour cutting is for cutting a printed image. You have alignment marks so the cutter knows where the image is.
