    SOMEONE Please Inform me!!!

Depending on the size, the easist way to do these would be to "EDGE" them. The EDGE is a Printer that can print onto vinyl without scrathing or smearing off. The only other way to do these in cut vinyl is to elimate some of the colors. I did one for you it still could use some "clean up" but it is set up for cut vinyl hope it helps. BRL.eps BRL.eps

    ENCAD inks

Bob, No I have yet to even print anything with the croma, bought it and havent had the time to play with it yet. I was talking about the Colorspan 72UVX is a pain to get primed and ready to go. It seems that the printheads ALWAYS clog for some reason. We started with the Flexi 8 ICC profiles and tweaked them from there and must say that the output is impressive when everything works the way it's suposed too. LOL Terry, even with a $80k printer (Colorspan 72UVX), anything with a exposed printhead is a pain to clean, keep clean and they are all a mess... Maybe I'll go back to the roland pc600 thats a great thermal printer for the money. I just like the fact of the wide format printing for some reason and the fact that you can go from decals to banners with out the labor involved like the vinyl. I've been in the vinyl cutting business for the last 9 years and just looking for something else to get into and I love the fact my designs are not limited to the vinyl colors on hand.

    Applied vinyl gassing, blistering, bubbling?

Avery did have a BIG Boo-Boo on their A9 vinyl about a year or so ago. They put the wrong adhesive on the vinyl for 18 months, never issued a recal but waited for the customers to come back and complain about the shotty work and the vinyl bubbling up and the edges curling up. It was and still is a pain trying to get your money back out of them but you had to go back threw the person you got the vinyl from to get some compensation. 95% of the time I have had good luck with AVERY and only deal with 1 person to buy my vinyl from. Also sometimes if you don't apply enough pressure to the vinyl on the glass you can get bubbles that pop up, but it sounds like bad adhiesive to me. Just my 2 cents worth.....

BTW Terry, are you refuring to the CROMA24 as junk? What problems have you encountered with this printer?

Yea, keeping the print heads clean and clear can be a real pain. I run a MacDermid Colorspan 72UVX (flatbed 4 CMYK printer) at work and the maintaining the printer is ALOT of work. But we can produce full color banners up to 6' tall at any length and 18 X 24 coro signs in no time compaired to what it would take to EDGE them or produce them with vinyl. It takes about a 1/2 hour in the morning just to get the printer to produce a good quality print that is acceptable to the customer but I guess the artist is his worst critic.

    Help with this graphic/vinyl

I would start with the gold and apply it to a white outline then apply that to a solid black background. So then it would only be 2 layers thick. Clear tranfer tape helps but you can also use a light table to see the vinly under it on multiable layer jobs.

    bid question!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My Estimating software says: 15min of design time, 4 hours of labor. If it's cut with a calendered film I would charge him .68ea if he orders all of the 500 at the same time. Remind him that 3-5 tattoo jobs will more the pay for the price of the decals if he says anything about the price. Good luck!

    Write port error in Flexi

I sold the plotter , but I had a feeling that it was in the cable but I did not have one to swap with. The computer would pop up and say the the device had disconnected. I just turned everything off then back on and it worked for a while. I have a printer, mouse & a usb storage device connected to the computer too so I did not thinkit was in the computer because those things would give me problems to. All of the feedback help, thanks for the help guys. knowlage is power! LOL

    ENCAD inks

I found out that all of the ENCAD inks are the same, GS, GS+ & GO. Any of the inks will work in the printer but the ink cartridges are different. Only the Novajet4 and Croma24 cartridges are compatable. I'm looking at a Novajet 600, 700 because of the 600dpi feature and the bulk ink systems. How do the GO inks hold up outdoors?

    Write port error in Flexi

I keep getting a "Write port Error" when I try to cut. This is a random problem that seems to come and go whenever it pleases. I've reloaded the driver for the PCUT, reinstalled the production manager (FLEXI 7.6v2) and I still keep getting this error message. I dont know if this is a computer hardware/software, FLEXI or PCUT issue and would sure like to figure this out if any one could help.

Yup, I talked to Kent??? at globalprintsupply.com. He knows what he is talking about and told me exactly what I need to get for my printer. Thanks for the help! Have you or do you used their inks?
