    MH721 Plotter Cutting Problems

Thanks for the help! Im not using a stand to run the plotter. Its on an IKEA table with metal legs. Can I just put a screw into the metal leg and ground the plotter to that? Any particulars on what wire to use or anything? I know I didnt get an expensive plotter or anything, but it seems odd that I have to spend $75 extra just to get the thing to work properly. If I was to run smaller batches of stickers with only one design in them, would that solve the issue perhaps? I generally print a sheet of stickers with around 100 stickers on them. I would not mind running a batch of 20 over and over again if this might solve the issue without having to shell out an extra $75. Anyone have experience with USCutter giving a discount on these products?
  3. I have a MH721 Plotter and I have been having issues with the way it cuts. I am running it through the SignBlazer Elements for US Cutter program that came with the plotter. The problem is as follows: I will run off a sheet with numerous stickers on it (some the same, some different) and it will cut some of the stickers incorrectly. It wont cut entire letters, it will drag the blade from one sticker to the next, sometimes even through stickers it has already cut (cutting that design in half and ruining it). Issues like this that are resulting in a lot of wasted vinyl. It does not always happen with the same letters, not always the same designs, etc.. so its nothing easily replicable. Is there some adjustment that needs to be made? Some maintenance I need to perform to keep this from happening? Is there a particular orientation my designs should be in to cause this from not happening when I plot them? HELP!!!

Need Heat Transfer Help in South Florida

    Anyone think they can help?
  5. Not sure if I am posting this in the right sub-forum, so please let me know if Im not. I need some help getting a small job done here in South Florida. I need a few shirts and jackets made for an event in 2 weeks. Ive got the vinyl, and its already cut in the designs I need. I also have the garments I need them pressed on to. The only missing link is the heat press. Money is a little tight now and I cant spring for a heat press, so Im hoping I can pay someone for use of their machine for no more than an hour. Ill drive to you, anywhere in South Florida. You can press it for me, or you can show me how and Ill do it. Either way. Im hoping someone can bail me out in exchange for some $$. Please let me know! Thanks.

    DIY Squeegee Ideas

Im thinking of making my own 24" wide squeegee for the application of transfer tape. Has anyone tried this? Would a piece of square tubing work well, perhaps with a thin carpet on the bottom to help is slide but hard enough to force air out? Ideas?
  7. Any other good DIY's?
  8. I am about to pickup my first heat press, and I am wondering if its possible to use heat tarnsfer vinyl on a dri-fit or performance type shirt. I have a bunch of those sweat-wicking polyster golf shirts that I would like to heat transfer some vinyl to. Does this work? If so, are there any special insturctions to follow when doing it? Special vinyl, special process, etc.. Thanks!
  9. Im looking to DIY a Application Tape Dispenser. I have seen posts about a DIY thread for these things, but I cant find it. Can anyone point me in the right direction, or post some pictures of some DIY options so I can get an idea of what to build? Also, any DIY's for a holder of some sort for spare 24" vinyl rolls? Thanks!
  10. Thanks for all the answers! So no iron, got that. Where do you guys buy your heat presses from brand new. Im going to search Craigslist, but if I was to buy it new, whats the best place to save some $$? Also, what vinyl roll do you recommend? Ill likely be printing on black/grey/white shirts at first, so I want to pickup a roll of white, a roll of black, and perhaps a color roll like gold for my initial run of designs. Suggestions?
  11. Hey! Im a newb to the plotter scene. Just picked up our first from USCutter and we are looking to make a couple of shirts for the business, and for sale in the future. I know that my machine can cut heat transfer vinyl, I was just hoping someone could inform me of the heat press part. Can I use a regular iron to transfer the vinyl if the logo is small enough and fits under the iron, or does it have to be a heat press? Any other tips, tricks, tutorials, videos on doing heat transfer stuff would be much appreciated! Thanks in advance.
