gomjabar 0 Posted May 25, 2007 Consider me a neophyte. I'm pondering a 50" cutter/plotter. All I need is a plotter with line art capabiliiy. That is BMP, JPEG, etc. Am I ;ooking for the right plotter?
kenimes 42 Posted May 25, 2007 .bmp, .jpg, and .gif files, etc. are raster images that need to be vectorized (traced) before a cutter/ plotter can read where you want it to plot. Once those types of files have been vectorized and saved in .eps or .ai format, the software will read it properly and send the commands to the plotter.
