Grapthec CE 50 LITE quality cutting issue

Recommended Posts

Hello !

I have an issue on the cutting quality as you can see on the picture attached. I have tested the offset from to , "-2", "-1", "0", "+1", "+2".
"0" seams the best choice but still not perfect. at "+2", it fixes the issue on the attached picture but similar issue appears elsewhere.

Would you have any clues ?

Configuration :
Vinyl: Stahls SP or Siser PS (not sure)

Grapthec CE 50 LITE
Knife: 2
Force: 11
Speed: 15
Acceleration: 2
Tangential: Off
Distance Adjust: Off

Thank you in advance !

First, make sure you have your blade depth is set correctly, You must, or other settings will not work.  And blade offset is ZERO on a Graphtec.   Do not use instructions that have to do with the thickness of a credit card or post it notes.  Start very slow, until you get your settings correct. No need to run a fast speed.

To start with, you should set your blade depth correctly, by taking the blade holder out of the machine, and firmly cut across a piece of scrap vinyl, you will be cutting. You should only be cutting the vinyl and barely a mark on wax paper backing, Adjust blade to get there, Then put the blade holder back in machine, and use the force of the machine to get there, same results, only cutting the vinyl and barely a mark in wax paper backing. You should barely see and feel the blade out of the blade holder. You use the force of the blade to cut with.  Regular sign vinyl is only 2-3 mil thick. You only cut with the very tip of the blade.

What do your TEST cuts look like from the cutter?  That is where you run your test from. TEST feature.  Your user manual should show you what the test should look like that is correct. The triangle and square.   You don't mention which cutting software that you are using.
