bettyboop 0 Posted June 28, 2014 MH721 blade seems to be stuck down as if the magnet will not release in the carriage, any help would be great, can't seem to find a new carriage in the uk
Dakotagrafx 7,297 Posted June 28, 2014 my first guess is a z-chip on the mainboard if it had been working fine before. you can take the cover off the carriage and try touching a 9v battery to the wires to see if it reacts - if it does then change the z-chip - if it doesn't then carriage
bettyboop 0 Posted June 28, 2014 Thanks for that Dokatagrafx, I will give it a try
mb20music 760 Posted June 28, 2014 If you find that the Z-axis chip is bad, you can purchase a replacement here http://www.uscutter.com/Z-Axis-Carriage-Chip-for-MH-Series-Cutter
Dakotagrafx 7,297 Posted June 28, 2014 international shipping is going to be a bear though

Dakotagrafx 7,297 Posted June 28, 2014 I sent a mb for a refine to uk a while back and the shipping sucks. I have some z-chips that can send first class but it is riskier and still not totally cheap but may be cheaper
bettyboop 0 Posted June 28, 2014 I had a search on google, just missed one on ebay last week, but it did not sell, so I have messaged the guy, hopefully he will get back to me, I will let you know
Dakotagrafx 7,297 Posted June 28, 2014 the z-chip as I recall sits in a socket right under the fan (was either that or the memory) - so replacement is easy, unplug old one and plug in new one
bettyboop 0 Posted June 28, 2014 That sounds easy, but I'm all fingers and thumbs
