ladymare 12 Posted November 21, 2012 I'm trying to cut small letters No more than .25 inches tall. My cutter is having a hard time cutting them without ripping up, snagging, etc... I've slowed down to a 10 on my cut speed. Would a 60 degree blade help? I feel like this is a newb question but I've never cut such small letters before. Thanks in advance for the advice. MZ SKEETER 4,709 Posted November 21, 2012 Yes, it is advised to use a 60 degree blade for detailed designs and small lettering. Also using a good brand of vinyl. Make sure you blade is set correctly, by taking the blade holder out of the machine, and in your hand firmly cut a piece of scrap vinyl. You should only be cutting the vinyl and barely a mark on the wax paper backing, adjust blade to get there. Put holder back in machine, and using the force on your machine, get the same results.
Jay2703 704 Posted November 21, 2012 Blade depth adjustment and offset adjustment are the two most important things to get right. CleanCut blades also help. I spray my blade with WD-40 to keep the adhesive from sticking. Make sure it has dried before cutting with it.
ladymare 12 Posted November 23, 2012
Thank you both! It's cutting much better with the 60 degree blade and I will try the WD-40 next if I can't get these last few to cut!
