    WF 1100, 40, 30?

The 30 and 40 should be the same with the exception that the 40 is wireless. they bith print 8.5 x 44, the WF 1100 is the large format. The WF1100 has an extra black cartridge, can remember if the others are a 4 or 5 cart system.
  2. oops, sorry Banner. :-* Ditto Mars. I just took it as "it is what it is", I agree on those points, just thought I was missing something.
  3. The MH 871 cuts nicely with MTC. You have the choice of cutting WYSIWYG, just as placed on screen or by the knife set/origin, I have also be using Sign Cut which came with the cutter. I've done paper cuts with a mat and vinyl from the roll. I will say that I did seem to have a "cleaner" cut of the paper cardstock when I used Sign Cut. MTC is still my favorite for designing. I just save my design as an eps or ai file to cut in alternate program. Banner, I don't know of the quirks you are speaking of I'm curious.

Looking to Purchase a New Vinyl Cutter

Since last posting I've been using my MH 871, it works great with Make The Cut. however, I will say thus far, I like to do my designing in MTC, cutting in Sign Cut, (runing the 1 year license that came with the cutter). Still trying to figure Sign Blazer.

Boat numbers etc opinions on machine

If all you want to do is numbers, you can get away with something as simple as a Cricut Personal or Create cutter, only cuts an area of 6 x 12, or Cricut Expression 12 x 24". and either Sure Cuts A Lot software, mac compatable, or Make the Cut running on paralelles (no need to buy cartridges). You can get started from $150-250. The Shilouette is also a nice cutter with contour cutting ability, not sure how it works with Mac. about $200. Cut area 8.5 x 39" The Gazelle is another cutter with more force and speed than the cutters above, and it has laser alignment. Cut area 13 x 96. Runs from $350-450. Someone else will most likely chime in and say these are hobby machine, true they were geared for the hobbist market, but they are workhorses and have been pushed to cut items many would not try on a "Professional" machine. I am also using the US Cutter MH-871, they have a smaller 12" starting at $220.00

I just purchased a MH 871 about 3 weeks ago and have recouped 2/3 of the cost, . I figured that since I'm just getting started still have materials to buy to get my setup this would be a good deal and I have a second cutter,(and one more easily portable should I need it to be). Help Me PLEEZZZZE!!!

I am trying to do a cut in sign blazer and just can't get this to work. I have been able to make cuts in another software, but it doesn't have the weeding feature. I have gone through the step and refered back to the manual, but I am missing something, no response to "cut" command. I'm using the MH 871. Thanks
  11. I have a version of Funtime thats only for the BossKut Gazelle, and I haven't tried PNC on it yet. I've mentioned in other post about Make The Cut software and it works with print and cut. You can download the trial version and see if it works out for you. Also on the MTC board, there's a member SBryan, he uses the Laser Point cutter. You may wish to post a question on that board to him or join the Tuesday night webinar, live question and answer sessions. 8:30-10:00--and later.
  12. I'm not an affliate for Make the Cut, be I will also say, IT"S AWESOME. I've made several post stating this. It does have several drivers and the developer is always trying to add more, he's very hands on with the product. I own 5 different cutters and it is compatable with each. I like being able to open one program, design and then cut to the machine(s) of my choice. It's a powerful and inexpensive program. Andy, the developer of the software is also up for the challenge of getting his software to work with as many cutters as possible, it works with Rolands, MH-serires and Laser Point. As well as the SD Shilouette, Cricuts, BossKut Gazzelle and Black Cat Cutter, if your machine is not on the list just post a message in the Make the Cut message board. I just got my MH cutter and haven't completely set it up. I received Sign Blazer and Sign Cut but haven't tried them yet, so I can say how MTC compares to the others, but I believe it deserves taking a look at.

Looking to Purchase a New Vinyl Cutter

I am new to this type of cutter as well, but here's my take on things. As far as easy to use software, I am using Make the cut, is was originally developed to work with the cricut, but seveal other cutter drivers have since been added and more upon user request. I have used four different hobby cutters, cricut E, create, shilouette sd and the bosskut gazelle, I just purchased the Uscutter MH-871 and I can cut to any of these machines from this software. There's a great support forum and weekly webniars. As far as contour cutters, it works with the LaserPoint and roland machines. You can download an unlimited trial version and test it with your Cricut, lot of features and a small price tag. I haven't run any test on my MH-871, didn't set it up yet. but I will say I love this software and I'm to lazy to (For the moment) to learn another software. Since you can print from this software I used it to do my color separations for screenprinting.
