Some cutting boards

    <blockquote class='ipsBlockquote'data-author="Tyler Smith" data-cid="378265" data-time="1417009199">
One thing I haven't quite figured out yet. How do people center up where they're putting the graphic? I use a wet erase marker, but for wet applications, it obviously doesn't work.

Tape measure?? In this case you could use a stabilo pencil and mark the top side of the cutting board then align through the glass.

    These are pretty cool! What are you telling the customer in regards to cleaning? How would they hold up in the dishwasher?

    New Logo

    Looks nice SeeJay! I like that it is simple and easy to read. I'm not a big fan of crazy busy logos that make me search for the message.

    Personal artwork vs Doing artwork for a customer

    I'm only part time but it happens to me as well. I have so much I'd like to do for myself but when I have the time for it I hit the creative wall. I can get a phone call with a request and an idea and my wheels start turning almost instantly. The next day I'll have two versions to choose from. Not sure if it's the money or desire to please the client or what but it does seem to come easier when it's for a client. My wife is probably right when she says it's because I am my own worst critic. I'm sure that goes for most of us.

    Doming a single decal

    I would like to dome a decal on a steering wheel center cap. I briefly looked around and didnt see any really small kits for short runs and I know some of you get into doming so it would probably be much more affordable to pay one of you to throw it in with one of your orders. It is a white plastic center cap with a 1 1/4" center that is recessed about 1/16". Anyone interested?

    Doming a single decal

    Thanks everyone! I don't want to get into it right now and don't want to invest in even the starter kits. I would like to send my center cap and decal to someone else for the doming. I have all winter so if anyone is interested in doing it when they have a batch just let me know.

    Is it the small things that matter?

    Looks very professional SeeJay. Do you buy the bags from clearbags.com? I ran a cross this vid on YouTube a while back of a wooden folding box this guy made. It was pretty cool and folded like crazy. You just turn one crank and watch it work. I'll look for a link when I get home.

    Can I set up a business only page? I signed up but see no settings for personal or business. I do see that I can create a page for business but do I need to keep my personal page?

    FACEBOOK

    I have always been anti FB and do not have an account but I have always recognized it as a great marketing tool. Now that I am looking into joining for the business side I have some questions for you FB vets. 1- Can you give me a quick run down of how it works from post to final sale? 2- Do you need to like every Joe Shmoe who visits? 3- How do you handle riffraff and negative users?

    Applying Oracal 651 Vinyl Stickers On Auto

    I went back and forth with this myself and after researching here it seemed most use the dry method. I wanted to lean towards the wet method figuring it would give me more time to position the vinyl and shift it around. In the end I decided to use the dry method. I figured if I couldn't get it right the first time then I would be forced to recut and obviously needed more practice. I have only had to recut once. I believe this method will make me a better installer. I am a huge fan of wetting the app tape for a minute or two before removing it though. It releases with ease.

    I've never striped a cart or paid to have one done. I would just do T&M.

    Doming a single decal

    xpaperman, your bar sounds nice. I have seen it done on many diy shows and have always wanted to try it myself. I do think it is a bit different than the decal resins but we'll see what Dakota has to say. I am really interested in the process and it is on my list of things to approach down the road but I really need to stay focused on the vinyl side i.e. (I NEED to step up my software to AI and Photoshop to learn more on designing and have better designs, master photo editing to insert my work for ads, learn the ins and outs of file types, and of course there are the business and legal challenges also) I will be approaching my goal date in a few months and I am nowhere near where I want to be. So much to learn and take in....some nights my head is spinning when I hit the pillow from all of the researching on my own and trying to teach myself. I'm trying not to ask for as much around here because I have not much to offer in return. But it's all good and will hopefully pay off in the end. I am extremely dedicated to this becoming a lifestyle and not just another fly by hobby. Well that got way off

    Doming a single decal

    Yeah when I searched it Dakota seemed to come up with the most info and examples. Those nice "Nitro" decals he did are pretty much what I am looking for. This is for my boat that won't hit the water til spring so no real hurry. I'll wait and see if he is interested. I have read that some of the cheaper resins will turn yellow over time. Can't have that on my boat.

    Cutt off knife for my Graptec CE 6000

    That's the damn truth jaybird! Look on the table to the left of my cutter, then the table on the right, leave the cutter to look on my weeding bench only to find the dang knife is in my right back pocket! Thinkin about tying it to the cutter with about 35 inches of slack.

    Cutt off knife for my Graptec CE 6000

    <blockquote class='ipsBlockquote'data-author="arty-rc" data-cid="376440" data-time="1415197688">
I have been using the plastic letter openers. They have an enclosed blade that cuts great and straight. The plastic housing won't mark up the cutter. Wally world has them as well as any stationary store. You can also shop on the big auction site for them.

I bought two different brand letter openers like this and neither works well for me on my CE6000. They are just wide enough to bind up in the knife track. They also seemed awkward to use. (too small in my hand) I use a large snap-off blade knife and set it so it won't bottom out in the track.

    Why won't 631 stick to this paint?

    Well guys I just let my wife down in the bedroom! I made her one of these "romantic" sayings for above the headboard and it did not stick at all. Oracal 631 vinyl and HT55 App tape. What is in this paint that causes this issue?

    Why won't 631 stick to this paint?

    It was painted over five years ago. I test cleaned a small inconspicuous spot with rapid tac2 using light pressure and my rag turned blue. I figured a alcohol mix would be worse. This area is high on the wall so no chance of hand oils. I figured water was good enough for the cleaning. My wife is pretty disappointed so now I'll have to find a different substrate to hang. Maybe a pic frame.
