  1. Hello all. I have the opportunity to lay some vinyl on a 16 ft. trailer for the local fire co. They have the design already they just need me to cut and apply the vinyl with my US cutter machine:). After cost of materials, how much would you charge for a similar Job. I know the reflective vinyl is going to be expensive, but I'm sure I'll get more work from them so I'll probably eat the cost this time around. The trailer is like an enclosed landscaping trailer with...rivets, yikes . Any direction on the cost of labor would be awesome. Thanks guys.

    Cutting decals/stickers

Thank you for all your replies. I do have a 24" paper cutter that I bought off of eBay. Unfortunately, as with most "too good to be true" deals it's not square :- . Thanks for the idea Banner John, I have a Harbor Freight warehouse near me so I'll have to stop in there and see what they have this weekend. I was really hoping there was some setting for cutting pressure of the weeding box oh well

    Cutting decals/stickers

Hello, I have a question about manually cutting out decals or stckers. Say you have a client that wants 500 stickers of their logo sized around 3x4". After you cut these on the plotter how would you cut these up into 3x4" pieces? Is there another cutting machine that does this? What do sign shops use to slice up the stickers. Is there a way to set the weeding box pressure? That would be excellent if the weeding box would cut with slightly more pressure. Then you would have 500 stickers cut out at the same size... hmm bit confused. Any insight is greatly appreciated. I have a refine 1351 , software is inkscape and signcut.

    windows vista...

I have Vista and use Signcut and inkscape, Signcut works well. I had some minor appearance issues with inkscape but it functions fine.
  5. Yes it has cut perfectly with no problems until about Friday when it started leaving out the last weed line. I'll probably have to just add it manually everytime like stated above until I or someone here can figure it out. Oh and Tater thanks for your help... I've used a lot of your posts to help with my newbie vinyl issues.

    First application

Well here is my first vinyl application ever. I used diamondplate vinyl on black for the "marios". I didn't have application tape so I used 1" masking tape which proved to be a major pain, it was too tacky. I'm waiting on my app tape from eBay. I know its not aligned perfectly but I figured I'd share it anyway. I'm still trying to understand what wet application is... I did this dry and there were no bubbles but the door was pitted and had a bad paint job so it does appear to have bubbles but it's just dirt under the paint.
  7. Hello all, I've had my 1351 for about 2 weeks and I must say I've been trolling this forum from the start. I've received a lot of help going through the archive on this forum, however I couldn't find a solution to the folowing problem I'm having. My graphic cuts fine but when the cutter cuts the weeding box it only cuts 3 sides. It does this on every copy whether I cut one or 100. It's the final side to the weed box that it doesn't cut. The cutter head just stops and doesn't return to its default location all the way to the right, or if I'm cutting multiples it skips that one side of the weed box on every copy and at the end stops in the middle where it would have cut the line. I have to press the reset button in order to get it to return. It has been doing this for the past 2 days. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Jason Refine MH1351 Windows Vista USB Signcut (latest version)
