    Copam 2500 freezing up

Did you submit a ticket a few days ago on this? I think we worked on a similiar issue with another customer on this via our Ticket system. It just seemed a bit odd to us at the time, and we're still looking into it. It's possible that this has to do with your power supply causing the cutter to reboot everytime in would come on causing the cutter reinitialize and jump between the power on screen and measuring screen. If you haven't resolved this already, contact us by submitting a ticket, or call in, we might need to have you test a few things.

    Copam CP-2500 Problem

If you're using a 9 pin serial adapter to USB, then make sure you're using a Null Modem cable for the Copam. Additionally, do you know what kind of adapter you're using? Brand, model number? Speedy is right though, submit a ticket, and we'll have a tech work on this with you.
  3. The Graphtec uses a servo motor, just like the ZenCut, and most professional level cutters out there. Because of this, the cut lines on it is far more precise. You'll end up with smoother cuts, and better tracking for lengths of up to 60 or 70 feet. The Copam tracking is recommend to only up to about 10 feet. The CE-5000 also has an optical eye, just like the ZenCut Green, to auto read registration marks for Contour cutting. Something the Copam is not capable of.
  4. The ZenCut is leaps and bounds better than the Copam actually. It uses a Servo motor, and has an optical eye for contour cutting. It's more durable than the Copam, and the quality of the cutter is comparable to the Graphtec CE5000. These cutters have a low failure rate from the time we started carrying them. Personally, they're on of my favorite cutters for that price range. Again the 2 year warranty on that assures that if there is any problems we'll be able to provide you service and parts for it. Though in general, these cutters hardly ever fail.
  5. Hi Wayne, the Copam is a huge step up from the MH Series. Espcially if you are looking to use it for business use. Overall the quality of the parts are better built and installed. The static problem is not prevalent as the MH series on the Copam. In terms of reliability, which is what you want for business, the Copam is a great place to start. However, if you're able to afford a bit more, i would recommend jumping to a ZenCut Green.

    Blade & Pressure

    Awsome, good to hear.

    Adjust border width?

The Copam measures the paper by using the pinch rollers set on either side of the material. To adjust this, try moving the pinch rollers further out to the edge of the material. If you have a Copam with 3 rollers, use the 2 outside pinch rollers.

    Blade & Pressure

Did that get the lifting vinyl problem solved? I just wanted to make sure, since I wasn't sure.
  9. Try plotting with a pen first and see how that comes out. If it draws fine, try increasing your blade to where you're actually cutting through the vinyl. Once you have done that, and are still getting parts that are not cut out, increase your pressure to compensate for it.
  10. Hi Scotty, what did you guys do to get the cutter to cut in SignBlazer? This might be an indication of what in Flexi might be causing this.

    drivers not working

It looks like we need to reinstall the FTDI drivers. However, I would actually recommmend contacting US Cutter support for assistance by phone on this. We can do a remote assistance, and take a look at what's going on. Call into us at 1-888-298-8143.
  12. We don't recommend removing the power supply by yourself. The Copam is a big pain to take apart, so I would actually recommend contact US Cutter by phone at 1-888-281-8143.
  13. Great post. I'm going to sticky this, since I"m sure it's going to be helpful to others.
  14. You'll definitely want to get one with a shield on it though. Especially if it's going to be any longer than the ones provided with the cutter.
  15. Sign Cut Pro has already added a plug-in on there for the Zen-Cuts to do contour cutting, and our CD has a AAS plug-in for Corel Draw that allows you to place registration marks. In Illustratore you will just need to create one yourself.
