    24'' pcut cutter

Geez...Up until now I've had no regrets purchasing a CP-2500 with SignCut. But after reading all the hype about SignBlazer I can't help but feel a little remorse.

    My files shut Signcut down

I have a few designs given to me in DFX (a format that I don't have an understanding of yet) that refuse to cut properly when I launch them from Corel. The cutter appears to make short cuts between nodes as opposed to a long continuous smooth cut. It takes forever and leaves a micro sawtooth edge on the cut. I wonder if the DFX format isn't giving us both fits. Perhaps someone reading this can offer insight as to what's happening and how to correct this?

    multi layered lettering

I've read your instructions and watched the video (it's too fast for me). When I get to: Select both layers, then goto Object on the tool bar, then align and distribute. Center on both axis, horizontal and vertical. I'm finding my outset(larger) text to be covering the original text defeating the task. How do I move it to the front in Inkscape, what am I missing? Thanks

    Multiples of the same sticker

I set my Corel page width the same as my vinly roll. Lay the project out in Corel using the duplicate feature for multiples across the witdh. Launch the project to SignCut, set up the weeding lines, and rotate the project 90? before cutting with the most success. I've tried the multiple feature thru SignCut, but for some reason one side on my mind has issues comprehending and I end up with shorted vinyl.

    My files shut Signcut down

Are you using the application launcher (missle in upper right side) in Corel or are you using the export freature from the menu? I save my Corel projects in CDR format and then reimport them for cutting later into Corel before launching them to SignCut PE. While I have never attempted to use Export from Corel, I see AI as the default format so I can't help but think that's the format my launching uses with success. I did attemp to run a DFX file this way yesterday thru Corel with problems developing in SignCut. I wasn't sure at that time if it was a file format issue or connectivity problems with SignCut. Maybe this will offer you additional insight to your problem.

    Confession regarding cutter settings

I was thinking of the 'Settings for Cutter' screen in SignCut. Examples: Step-by-step Cutting, Overlap, reference regristration marks, etc. I believe mine is still set at defaults, however I'm not sure cause I don't know what any of them mean. Then there is the set-up screen on the cutter. My offset is currently set at 20mm. I don't know where it should be and why? I'm cutting ok..... I'm just wondering if I could be cutting cleaner or maybe with less waste if I understood any of this. Thanks
  8. If I were to go to the cutter settings in SignCut right now with someone looking over my shoulder I wouldn't be able to tell them what most of the settings pertain to, nor what they should be set at. Am I missing out on something? Can someone give me insight on the important ones. I can cut just fine with SignCut...however I can't help but wonder if I should know more. Thanks

    Where to buy Coreldraw

Search a little deeper on ebay. I found a full blown 4 disc X3 version new in sealed factory packaging for just under $100 total. I was a bit apprehensive at first too.....the seller I found appeared as a legit software reseller out of IL.
  10. Once I send a project to SignCut it's out of whack by 90 degrees. Does signcut offer the option to correct this or do I need to do this prior to sending it to Signcut? Thanks

    coral!!!!!

I'm using CorelDraw X3 with SighnCut X2 driving a Copam. Although your's is a Refine I wouldn't think there much difference in the interaction of these programs. Untill I read your post I had not tried the Corel Tab in SignCut. When tried today all it did for me was to launch Corel from SignCut. I build a project in Corel and launch it in SignCut by clicking on the missle in the top toolbar of Corel which in turn opens SignCut and imports the Corel project ready for cutting less the weeding lines and any orientation corrections I desire. In other words, you're opening Corel from Signcut and what you need to be doing is opening SignCut from Corel, just the opposite.

    Cut on vinyl width?

Has rotating the project image(s) in Signcut had any effect on the desired results?
  13. Projects sent from Corel to Signcut appear 90 degrees out of sync. Rather than the cut spooling from the top or bottom of my Corel screen, it cuts from right to left which forces me to rotate text and images 90 degrees counterclockwise, if I desire the print field to run from edge to edge of the vinyl rather than the length of the roll. I've tried changing the page layout in Corel from portrait to landscape with no effect on this problem. Am I overlooking a simple solution to this? I don't quite understand the 90/0 degree cut option in the CP2500 cutter settings, would a change here correct this problem?

Can I change page orientation in signCut?

The red arrow was the answer. I had tried the rotation thru cutter settings without success. Let me rephase that. I thought I could change the orientation in cutter settings and each subsequent project sent would observe that rule. On my set-up that does not seem to apply. I'll be content to change each project as it arrives in SignCut now with the click of an arrow. That sure beats rotating each item in the project. Thanks again
  15. Thank U that's what I was looking for.
  16. For anyone reading this and considering this configuration during prepurchase. This turned out to be a non issue in my set-up. I also added a USB extension cable without any difficulty.
  17. I'd like to drive the CP2500 when it arrives from a laptop which will require using the USB adaption. I have the impression from posts on this site that many have been unsuccessful in using USB. Is this an issue or have software improvements been made to correct this? Then again maybe I've misread and it never was an issue. Thank-You
  18. This is my first time for everything , I just unpacked everything yesterday and already I'm scratching my head. I drew an outline of a silouette scanned it into the CorelDraw and converted the image to Vector, then sent it to SignCut for cutting. The image had a rather thick black drawn outline and when it gets to SignCut it has a dual cut outline that follows most of the drawing but not all. So I end up with a narrow dual cut of most but not all of the silouette. I want a single cut outline of it all, what am I overlooking preventing me from accomplishing this? thank you
  19. After becoming more familar with the software I realized that one cannot use lineart of an object and expect to cut the entire object out without first shading the interior of the object. So the software was attempting to cut a double narrow border of the object and any lines drawn inside the object cause I didn't have any contrast. After starting over with a full color clip of the image I was able to accomplish what I set forth to do. At least that's my story and I'm sticking to it. I've got CorelDraw X3. Thanks for the offers.
  20. I had the trial version of Signcut X2, removed it today and installed the disc version (yea I know it is the same) that came with my Copam, entered the license code and it shows as being valid for only 30 days. What happened to the three years of PE I was expecting and how do I obtain it?

My SignCut license is only 30 days?

    Taken care of, appreciate that.
  22. Thank you for your explaination. I've much to learn. I got some 6 year Avery and after looking at the thickness realize it probably won't curve as well as perhaps 4 year would have. As long as I retain these lessons I hope to be ok.
