No SB you gotta do the 3rd color reg marks trick.
-
Make 2 registration marks in a different color than the stroke/fill and in the cut screen select only the reg mark color and either one of the stroke/fill at a time. Unless your software does auto reg marks like WinPCSign or Flexi
-
The outline is the stroke & the inside is the fill. Adjust your stroke width to whatever you want export as eps file to your cut software and cut away.

Before I get carried away ...

^^^^^ Sub it out. If you dont use those printers on an almost DAILY basis you run into all sorts of expensive problems with clogged heads etc. -
Printer: Epson WF1100 with Cobra CIS www.cobraink.com Vinyl: Sihl 3988 or 3635 Laminate: Clear gloss overlam or Frog Juice Laminator: Big Squeegee (Type into Youtube) Cutter: Roland GX-24 comes with Roland Cut Studio (Type that into Youtube & watch all the tutorials)

Tip for doing small intricate designs, apply the entire decal to the bottle first and weed it afterwards. Makes it ALOT easier with thin fiddly bits.

Problem with Image printing on Epson Workforce 1100

What CIS are you using for your HP if you dont mind me asking? Cheers! Ben -
I dont have a problem giving people a "good deal" so long as its within the price structure that fits your market area. I like most people on here do this as a hobby or as extra income so my overhead is basically zero, however I charge what a local sign shop would charge for the same services. I farm out alot of stuff to local sign shops & I would rather be an asset to them and maintain a good working relationship with them than be THAT GUY that undercuts everyone and artificially lowers the market value of what we do. My mortgage and food for my family doesn't rely on this stuff but it does for the shops doing it full time. Ben

Anything you apply to the walls you run the risk of peeling the paint off regardless. Depends on how it was painted & primed etc. Oracal 631 is the best choice for "temporary" wall graphics but like was said its not reuseable. If you want to remove & reuse it look into phototex for digitally printed stuff.

a wazzock? LOL!!!! Glad you got it figured out brother, post up pics of your results. Cheers!

The quick and dirty depending on what software you are using is to design yer 2 color logo, put 2 registration marks above it for alignment purposes, load the first color vinyl into your cutter, in cut mode select only that color and the registration marks to cut, repeat for the next color. Weed out your decals, if the colors overlap each other mask the top most color first and work your way down so you are layering the top color onto the lower color. If the 2 colors dont overlap it makes no difference what one you mask first. Follow the layering technique as per this guy in this video, he's doing a 4 layer decal.

What part of the cutting out part are you having problems with?
-
Why bother running it thru twice I print then lam & THEN run it thru the cutter with higher a pressure setting & it cuts both just fine. It kills yer blade but keep one blade for contour cutting & another one for fine detail vinyl work.

What would you charge?

What!!?? I must be missing something here but isnt the point of being in business to make the MOST amount of profit for the LEAST amount of work? -
What would you charge?

I dont price so much by size as labor, you gotta work out how much time it took you to design it, input it into your cutting software, cut it, WEED IT, dual layer it etc.... And for only 20 of them at a time you gotta be charging more. -

8 bucks each -
^^^^^ Great write-up! Thanks Neron!

Nope, no peeling at all. Thats not to say I would do big car graphics with it but for small "bumper sticker" type stuff where the customer isnt expecting 5 years out of it you should be fine.
-
Yep, if the gas tank is plastic the fuel gets absorbed into the plastic and off gasses the decals. Ive heard of using CONVEX for printed stuff or perf.
