This year I am walking 60 km in two days for the Weekend to End Women's Cancer in Toronto. Here's what I've come up with to help me raise my minimum commitment of $2000!! I'm hoping these will motivate people to donate! The last one is for my hubby ... he spends 90% of the summer at the ball field =)

Thanks for the great advice John! I'll add a wee bit more to the top...because everything is more expensive in Canada... and go from there. Actually I'm pretty lucky, I live right on the border so I just ship my product to the states and pick it up there... I get to avoid paying the brokerage fees and additional shipping... it really makes it worth my while ... I'd pay nearly double for supplies if I was buying from a Canadian supplier ... to be honest I just don't get why there is such a pricing difference! And with the dollar the way it is right now, it's even that much more of a bonus for me!

I did my first 3'x8' banner today for a soccer team...since it's my first I'm really not sure how to price it ... need your input please Thanks a million!!
-
I did price it before ... it's for a co-worker so I gave him a bit of a break off of what I would have charged. I just wanted to make sure what I would have charged would be in line with what I should be charging ... if/when others ask about it =)
-
Thanks Rox! Perfect, sounds like I'm in the right range for price! I don't mind doing the odd job like this... My "niche" is large wall art ... so this was a piece of cake!

I don't have a printer, one can only dream... =( Just me and my PCUT ... Yep I designed it ... of course none of the company logo's were readily available in vector format so I had to make those as well.
-
Never mind... I guess I should be mindfull of what subject I'm in... I can do it for you in Corel ... if you want to send me your eps.

I know how to accomplish what you want using Corel Draw. Which software are you using?

Glass Etching/Sandblasting Job - anyone interested?
Nikklepikkle posted a topic in General discussion
Hey guys, I have a custom logo I'd like etched on some beer glasses ... I just about fell off my chair when the local company here wanted $150 set up fee to prepare the artwork, when I gave it to them in a vector file ready to go.... I'd like to do 4, or 8 if the price is right... anyone interested in this job? I'd like to have them shipped out by next week if at all possible... Thought I'd put it out here to see if anyone's interested. Message me if you are. The logo is attached. Ken's Glasses.eps Ken's Glasses.eps -

Didn't know there was one? -
A better blade holder sounds very interesting. I've never liked the blade holder on my pcut. Where can you purchase differnt blade holders that will fit our machines?
-
I've been at this about a year now, and can't believe how far I've come ... I started with small pre-designed word art ...and have now moved on to larger graphics. Here are some of my latest projects

Just regular transfer tape like any other decal. In order to line up the seams easily I make sure to trim the seam side right to the edge of the artwork. Once you do one and get it figured out, it's fairly easy after that.

Hi Kimmy, I only have a 24 inch PCUT so anything larger has to be done in "tiles" by overlapping the seams about 1/8th to a 1/4 of an inch .... anything more than one colour like the tree has to be put up one piece at a time ... it can be time consuming but I think the end product is well worth it. Thanks for your interest =)

Thanks for checking out my work guys!! First two are customers, second two are mine

Kim, I'm in canada. I get these frames at our Walmart or we have a store called Zellers. I usually pick them up when they're on for 25% off at Zellers so I always get them for under $20. Depending on the size of the frame and the amount of customization, I sell them for between $45 and $60. They make awesome wedding shower or baby shower gifts! I do alot of shopping in the US and I've yet to see floating frames in a US Walmart, I think you're best bet may be Target or something like that. If I can't find the size of floating frame I want or I want something with a fancier frame I'll just remove the matting etc, and then use caulking to hold the glass in place. Same effect. If you can find that font I'd be eternally greatful! I'm always looking for elegant fonts to use in these kind of designs! Thanks so much!

Here's an alternative to the tile idea for you. I like to use the "floating" frames. They have two pieces of glass, makes it much easier for cleaning and dusting.

Kim, love the font you used in the coasters, can you tell me which font that is? I too always struggle with how to price things. I've be charging $40 for the tile items, but I include a stand with mine. If a customer wants a design from scratch rather than just a simple pre-made saying or a Monogram I usually charge 50-55. I try and go with a little heavier tile than just ceramic. I'll pick up a granite or marble tile in the odds and ends section for 5-7 bucks. The real stone tiles are very elegant and can even be used outdoors for a memorial for pets etc. As for the coasters are you wanting to sell them as singles, or in 4 or 6 packs?

The two that I like are posted as jpg's on here somewhere but not eps files. They kinda look like an adaptation from the men/women's restroom signs....not sure how else to describe it. -
You can by the alphabet from myvinyldesigner.com for like $5.00. They have a couple styles to choose from. The girls that run this site are FANTASTIC to deal with, I highly recommend them! Their designs are always clean, crisp and very easy to weed! http://www.myvinyldesigner.com/Catalog/alphabets.aspx

Need Help Pricing Decal for Fundraiser
Nikklepikkle posted a topic in Business Practices, Sales and Pricing, etc.
Hi guys! I'm making these decals to sell as a fundraiser for the Weekend to End Breast Cancer (60k Walk in 2 days). They'll be 8" x 4", 2 colour. I'm having a hard time figuring out what to sell them for, any ideas. 100% of the money raised is donated, I don't plan on paying myself for the materials or labour. Any suggestions are appreciated. Thanks!!
