the white lettering is vinyl applied "over" the red. The install was done from scaffold that they had set up and also THEY moved to the 2nd side.

it is ovaled....must be the angle. The "facewas removed last year and I showed the guy that took it down how to remove the vinyl with a heat gun and once done he replaced the "blank" panels. The sign is 7'x10', 2 sides. They put up a scaffold for me to work from and this sign (2 sides) and a 4'x12' banner(one color) installed on the front metal facia of the building was $554.50. I thought I was a little high but once done, I was told I was lower than 2 other quotes(only about $50-60 dollars) "Oh I do enjoy this

one thing that I found on my US CUTTER S C cutter,. I kept having the same problem when using the S C cutter.I have been using the NH 721 standand if the cutter is not 'SQUARE' with the stand , the vinyl will "track" to one side. You may want to check the vinyl in relation to cuutter itself. Just my 2 cnts.

Hey ya'll Just wanted to show one of my latest projects. Reflective "scrap" for the lightning bolts. I have to admit, the "bolts" are hand cut. Couldn't get my MH_721 to get all the angles right.Welll??

Pricing a box truck
bigmax replied to jumpink's topic in Business Practices, Sales and Pricing, etc.
I formerly worked as an R V salesmn for 12 years. The market went "south" and was hired by a Toyota dealer. That company had 4 dealerships that I sold from, but driving 90 miles a day, round ttrip got pretty old. Long story short, I left Toyota and have been fortunate with full time sign making. 90 % of the business has been from referrals and repeat business. For the past 4 months, I've done better than when selling cars, less time and stress. I've had about 20 years experience in the sign business (part time) but, until the past 2-3 years everything was "hand painted" or lettered.Vinyl cutting is the best thing I've ever done.Pricing competivly requires "homework" and once in a while, you can make an exception in pricing. It has generally benifited in the long run though.Have learnrd so much from this forum that would not have been available otherwise.THANKS TO ALL CONTRIBUTORS! -
pricing & practices
bigmax replied to jumpink's topic in Business Practices, Sales and Pricing, etc.
What I do is walk in with a 3 ring binder with photos of past work that I've done and offer refrences if needed. Have plenty of business cards with you. In most cases, I find out what the customer has in mind and offer to work up a layout and price for them. DON'T SELL YOURSELF SHORT (underprice). I check with local shops in regard to pricing and stay competetive. Offer quality materials, fast turnaround and prompt follow up. You'll do fine with a little "well spent time and some elbow grease" GOOD LUCK!!!!! -
Just my opinion.......I have had a US Cutter MH 721 for about 2 years and has done a great job. I thought I would upgrade and bought SC model and have been rather disappointed with it. Just my 2 cents! The MH 721 paid for itself the first 30 days I had it. Using Signblazer and Love it.
