my guess----I image its because the more reliable serial port sends only cut data. when you had on USB- the software would send the design, and more parameters like speed. So now you can try setting the speed from the cutter itself- not the software-- maybe that will solve it.

Copam has done me good, but was way slower, no USB, no contour cut, a LOT of failurs (Knife down, scroll accros the roll etc. etc.) so I had to sit on top of it.
I got the Pcut CS630 for €300 - Which was cheaper than have my Copam shipped to my new location.I used to own that cutter also - I would not use the USB on it. As for contour cutting, I never attempted - but I would imagine its a manual process to hit the center of the marks - keep us posted if you are successful.

for setting and testing offset - I usually make some capital "T's" ( arial font I believe?) whatever makes a "square" T letter... I also like to use the plus sign, or a cross shape.
As for the design- make sure nodes are nice and rounded on the eye area. - another trick is to add more nodes in that rounded corner- forcing the cutter to spend more time in the arc.

welcome!

That was a graphtec- but I would be able to cut the same size file with my old value machine slowed down and all dialed in
-
Then I would suggest putting a layer of black behind the holograph vinyl
You can contour cut it so it's just barely visible

From what I have read- the holo - mirror and other metal type finishes of vinyl have a shorter lifespan outdoors. I would also recommend mounting in on top of another cast material - black, white say even a clear ? because in some cases the metal-type materials may damage the paint later when removing.
AS for font- probably depends on customer taste and business type/

I cut the file posted above. First saved as an EPS- didnt make changes. then cut on my machine.
Here are the results- I think it may be your machine setup still. Oracal 751 Vinyl.

I am happy to hear that you really like that cutter. SOO many people are happy with their summas - Quality, contour cut, controls- repeatable and accurate OPOS measurements- they truly are the best.
I have an old D620 - works awesome, but I rarely use it. For my contour cuts I use a Gerber Envision 375 since I use a thermal printer. But if I go with an inkjet- Summa all the way.
-
that's strange- am not sure why its going thru some letters and not others...
in this situation- until you figure it out, I would remove the auto weed lines, and free draw my own. --about three lines - Horizontal separating - Text - Bird - Text.

Hello,
Chances are slim someone on the forum would have the exact template you need - ( template is what I assume you are looking for? )
I would start here - did a google search "wave runner template" You most likely will have to purchase it, ( and it should be accurate).

welcome. If you can share the software you are using - someone will chime in.

ahh- nice!

welcome! A few words of advice. Every issue you may have- has been covered on this forum numerous times.
1. take your time setting it up.
2. Be patient connecting it to your computer ( com ports, etc.) Be wary of connecting direct thru USB if you bough a value cutter- some users have better success thru the serial com port.
3. Set and test your blade depth, (per Mz Skeeter advice) pressure and speed before cutting your favorite designs.
4. Have fun

I will chime in - I like clean cut blades- as do many others. Ross is a good guy with a quality product.
edit: and yes- 751 is nice cast material to work with

Well, I would let it run the file. - So you are using Gerber Omega 5.0? With a security dongle?
Is so that software does have a spool file, and you can check the jobs in the que...I would remove the blade holder, and just run the job out.
But if its happening repeatedly - and you have fully reset the machine--that tells me its the software sending it.

Which software? Check to see if there is a spool file or production manager in the background- or a stuck function button repeating the job at the plotter?

FC cutters are made very well.
Thank you Mz Skeeter for the reminder. I went back and picked it up. Yep- never installed.

Absolutely I agree.

so frustrating-- besides serial cable and reducing static - i am out of ideas- perhaps someone else will chime in
new print head

sorry to hear that- those solvent heads aren't cheap. I have a spare thermal head from a machine I parted out. I can't justify paying the manufacturer 3,500 plus to put a new one in when I have the svc manual.
