    what???

Hey Hey! Actually guys the cricut is not junk! LOL!! it is an expensive cutter that utilizes cartridges. software/computer optional. you do not need a computer to run it though they do sell software if you choose to hook it up to a computer. it does cut different media and it is designed for the home scrapper. it does cut vinyl very well and its USA made! LOL!!! I own a cricut but its tucked away at home not here in my shop though I did toy with the idea of having classes here for card making or scrapbooking. It really is a well made machine just expensive to operate between the cartridges, the cutting mats you have to use etc. I have seen the yudu at Michaels and Hobby Lobby, and it looks like a solidly built machine, if I had the extra $$ I would be getting one.

    Sand Blasting Cabinets

LMAO!! You know, thats what I thought someone would say! I think I'm going to go with the stand unit as well, otherwise I will have to find some sort of stand to put it on! Dylan I didnt see one for 15.00...and at that price you still have to "pull it" into the backyard?? Renee

    need some customers

Do you work out of your home or have a store front? Do you do only signs or do you do clothing? Do you do window graphics? if you do window graphics, make sure you have some nice stuff on your own vehicles and that of friends. I would definetly make flyers and let all the local businesses know that you can do thier signage ( real estate people are always looking for signs) I have found that newspapers ads are the least effective. If any towns around you are having thier street festivals, craft shows etc rent a booth! if you do clothing, make yourself/family/friends some nice shirts and hats and hoodies, do a nice tri-fold flyer and mail it to all the schools locally. you can do a yard sign and banner for yourself and hang in your yard if you dont have a store front. Gosh...there are so many ways you can advertise yourself...the best one is your work speaking for itself. If you dont do good work no matter how cheap you are, you will not get the work. Good luck and I hope you have found some good ideas from this thread! Renee

    crash dummies anyone?

Does anyone have a vector of the crash dummies or one of the dummies or know where I can get one? We have the demolition derby this weekend and one persons theme is the crash dummies. He has MS and another guy has given him a car to drive because he may not be able to drive next year. I thought it would be neat if I could make him a decal for his car in the crash dummies. Thanx in Advance! Renee

  10. I have the most trouble with weeding WHITE! Wow its tough to see. After looking at your pics I dug around in my closet ( no easy feat as EVERYTHING I want to hide for whatever reason gets put in there) and low and behold I have something similar to it already. its a hobby lighted box I used briefly for tracing. Picked it up in Michaels or Hobby Lobby or something like that awhile back. I'm gonig to give it try tomorrow! thanx for the tip!

    Countertop display

very creative way to display them! what price do you have on those if you dont mind me asking. I'm trying to come up with a set price for these because people will ask me and I generally wing it and throw something out there...most of the time the response is "thats all"? all my stick people are 2.00 each, I just sold 4 window decals to a guy I had just done 25 shirts for and I sold them to him for 10.00 each ( they were each about 7x7) Now he wants one for the door panel on his work truck and that one is going to be BIGGER. same design just bigger and I have no idea what to charge him!

    weeding....

I love my picks! I also love to weed, there is nothing more satisfying than watching your graphic come to life ( so to speak) After you have weeded the same graphic a dozen times though it does get boring...lol. The most I have done of one graphic is 65. the middle school soccer team wanted hoodies, T's and so did thier parents...lol. I just finished a two color job for the fire department and that was 52 tshirts....wow did I get sick of weeding flames and then the bull head, if I never did another one it would be too soon for me!

New to buisness have some ??'s

I 100% agree with the quality of work you put out there and word of mouth. I have had a store front for about a year and I'm so busy with tshirts/ hoodies and window graphics it isnt funny. I'm working 6 days a week now, I have not paid one dime for advertising and am glad I didnt! My work is walking around town in the form of tshirts, hoodies, hats, and in some cases truck and car window graphics. I use a pcut right now and I like it ok....most of the time! If I could go back and reorder a cutter it would be the graphtec hands down. Its a better cutter by far and I'm planning on buying one SOON! My advise to you would be to go with the graphtec 24 inch cutter, otherwise you will wish you had!

    I'm an idiot

Hey Suzy, your not alone in forgetting to put the pinch rollers down! I have done that a time or two and ruined vinyl. I have also forgot to to mirror my image when doing tshirt vinyl a few times! Mistakes will happen!

    Daughters latest project

She did a very fine job on that poster! I do believe you have a SMART girl there, she will be able to do all her vinyl decorating when she gets ready to hang that VET sign on her office! LOL

    some thing new

AHHH!! ok so along with the cabinate you need a sandblasting GUN....see I knew there had to be another piece to this! One more question...I'm assuming you need to COVER the whole item you are blasting except the part you want blasted right? so do you tape it all up? even inside the glass if thats what your doing? Renee
  20. Cre8tiveCutter

    some thing new

Thanx for the info Don! Let me see if I get this....you need an air tank with a hose to connect to the cabinate and the shells or sand is in the cabinate? the air from the hose blows the sand or shells around? Sorry for the dumb questions...lol I'm trying to learn!
  21. Cre8tiveCutter

    some thing new

Hey Don what does a pressure pot do? and what do you blast with? is there another piece of equipment? like a blow torch or something? LOL Renee

    12 inch us cutter machine

I dont know how well the uscutter 12 inch cutter works but I have the Roland 12 inch cutter and it does great. never moves. Keep in mind Sandy though it is a 12 inch cutter, you can only cut 10 wide. At least with the roland that is true. This was my first cutter...For what I paid for it, I could have bought a Graphtec! LOL!! We live and learn!! Renee

    Football Helmet

I second that...welcome to the forum whoever you are and where ever you are! LOL!! A little introduction would have been really nice. Good luck on finding your helmet!
  25. Sounds so familiar! Mine does it too! Only mine is more evil....it does it in the middle of cutting a graphic so I not only waste time but alot of money in vinyl goes out the door. mine is plugged into usb on the back of the computer, I do not have a serial port and no where to add one, so on that I'm screwed until I can get a Graphtec...I cant wait till I can afford it! Renee
