New Category for complaints/criticism
thredz replied to BannerJohn's topic in Community Rules & Announcements
I see no trash icon either John. But years ago, I wish there would have been one to put some of the rants in! I'm glad you have made a new category and will move the posts in hijacked threads. Sometimes people are frustrated enough trying to get a cutter going to do a job without somebody putting a bitch session in the middle of the discussion just to confuse them more. -

I'm running windows 7, and I had the same problem when I tried the ftdi drivers. I had to download the prolific drivers for the usb cable before it would read. I also uninstalled the ftdi drivers after that to keep from causing a device conflict. But flexisign and signblazer both recognize my cutters now. Hope that helps. -
I used to have that problem when I first got my mh721. A lot of the problem was the memory buffer in the cutter. The mh721 only has 4 megs of memory. I don't know about the 1351, but if you're loading 12 consecutive cuts it's probably loading as much as it can into memory and stopping. Try deleting the job, restarting the program and the cutter and running the designs two or three at a time.

Abc blueprints in Amarillo sells fdc vinyl, Rtape and coroplast. And there's a company out on the canyon eway and Mccormick road that sells metal sign blanks for cheap. But i can't remember the name of the company. Linda at abc can tell you who they are though. -
It's actually Mr. Natural. Try mark-s's idea

Great work Rocketman! -
I'm pretty sure even though you bought a keyspan adapter, you still have to download the keyspan driver updates to get it to work.

See if these will work. They are in wire frame, but you don't need the fill to cut. Hope it helps. tyco11.eps tyco.ai tyco11.eps tyco.ai

USB Device not Recognized
thredz replied to stormy's topic in USCutter Refine Cutting Plotter Discussion
The printer usb ports are not wired the same as the prolific usb cables. Cutters operate off of com settings with baud rate. If you go to the device manager in the windows control panel and check your Ports (com & lpt) it should tell you if you have the prolific usb - serial to comm port ( com *) . If it does not show a usb to serial comm port, then that is why it doesn't recognize your cutter. They have the updated prolific drivers in the download section of support on the USCutter website. I would suggest downloading the updates and installing them and see if that helps. -
Be careful, she'll be asking for health and dental before long. She is a cute girl.

Now that's cute! She should be getting a larger allowance.

Guns may need ammo. But it's hard to load a 22 with 50 caliber shells! lol

You'll find it highly addictive! I have graphics on most of the walls in two rooms of my house because I cut on a design and want to make a mural of it. Enjoy!!!!

The number one rule in the sign business is do it the way the customer wishes! I have one customer that has completely covered his car in graphics that he hand drew and used a pen to fill them in. They are nothing but jagged lines around every piece. But that is what HE wanted. You keep doing what you're doing because doing signs the way the customer wants it will get you more business than any book or sign makers opinion ever will.

Red is the most highly visible color you can use. Especially against a yellow background. Black is good on white. But if it is inside the window the changes in sunlight will make it blend in to the window where it's not that visible. Glad you got your cutter going!

I use flexi 7.5 and it only shows the percentage of the job cutting if it is a large file with R2. But when I cut with the cp2500 it shows no job because it loads it all in memory on the cp2500. R2, the mh721 only has 4 megs of memory. But the cp2500 has 64 megs of dsp memory. I don't know what your cutter has but chances are flexi is loading the job into the cutters memory which is why it doesn't show in the production manager when cutting.

The way it sounds, it's like the cut connection is dropping from the cutter itself. The memory chips and motherboard connections can vibrate loose from running. Or even if you move the cutter around in your shop a lot. If it was me, I would pull the cover off and check the inside connections. But since you aren't me, I would suggest getting with a tech at UScutter in the morning and have him walk you through checking those connections.

IN signblazer go to file- import and import the jpg. Highlight the image and then go to "image" in the menu. go to mode, then select - monochrome. Then go to " vectorise just below the mode and it will vectorise a cuttable design. You may have to play with your graphics as far as size and resolution to get the design lines straight because I don't know what you are trying to cut.

I can tell you that if you use a four port usb hub on a laptop they do not get the power to the ports like a desktop. And if you have the printer and a cutter running through the same usb hubs it will at times try to print to the printer instead of the cutter. And if you run a wireless internet through the same hub as the cutter it will mess up the commands sent to the cutter because the cutter runs off of modem commands like the internet. If your cutter head is shaking when it cuts it's more than likely because the signals it's receiving are not clear commands either from the power of the usb hub or the devices you have connected at the same time you are trying to run the cutter. And you need to make sure you have updated the usb drivers as well. I had problems with mine on a new laptop with windows 7 and downloaded the updated prolific usb drivers and have not had a problem since. But the cutter only runs the commands it is sent. If it's only running half of a job it's more than likely because there is a command interference telling the cutter the job is through. And also if you have the cutter plugged into a port, you have to use that port for the cutter always. If you plug it in to a different port it will change the com settings because the original port is set up for the com port you were using. Hope that helps.

It looks like a fancy style of Jokerman to me.

A few years back you had to use a keyspan adapter to get the usb ports to run on a mac. I think you can download the drivers from wherever you download them mac drivers now instead of actually having the adapter. The old post reffered to : Keyspan USA-19HS aka keyspanusadrvr as the driver. And you do have to reboot to load the driver to the machine. But this, or one of the other keyspan drivers should work with your OS. Hope that helps.
