3rd Pinch Roller for Laserpoint 24

The reason I would like to add a 3rd roller is that the left roller on my LP24 sometimes seems to stop and my vinyl bunches up and gets wasted. I was thinking if I put a 3rd all the way to the left it would help the one that stops. Maybe I just need to replace the one tht is stopping.
  2. Thanks for the tips. I used Ken's instructions for setting the depth (1/2) a credit card depth and it is working great now.
  3. Hi Ken, Can you tell me how difficult it is to add a 3rd Pinch roller to my LP24? Do you reccomend adding a 3rd roller?
  4. Can anyone help, I am going to purchase replacement blades. I want to get both 45 degree and 60 degree, but before I do, I want to know what each type is used for? I am currently cutting Thermo Flex Xtra (white) to be heat applied to nylon cushy coolers. When I use the blue that came with my cutter it cuts fine, but when I use the red, it either cuts all the way through or if I ajust the pressure slightly, it does not cut cleanly. It leaves some small edges.

    marking layers

A square, circle or diamond will work. I made the same mistake by reading the signblazer manual. I looked for the registration mark and found it is only available in the upgraded version of Blazer. It is not included in SB Elements (the one that comes from US Cutter). So for free we make our own! :)

    more magnetic questions

Try Stouse. They have almost any size and shape. If it is not in their catalog, call them, I get my football shaped magnets from them. they are not in their catalog, but they gave me the die number to use when I call to order. The web address is: www.stouse.com
  7. Thanks! that did the trick! Increased pressure to 115 and adjusted the blade. Now it is cutting perfectly ;D

    Supply Companies

Hi, I use Beacon. I am very happy with them. (I am located about 20 minutes from them so I always pick up my order at there warehouse) Their warehouse showroom is awesome. They are always willing to give advice, show me on their machines how to do things, and give me free samples to try. I almost always deal with Joan-Marie. Tell her the Seton Boys from Black Cat Graphix sent you, and I'm sure you will be happy with the customer service. The other company I order from is Ordway Sign Supply. Fast Shipping, and great prices!

    contour cutting

I have the LP 24 and I have tried to follow all of the instructions of contour cutting and I have not been able to get it to work. I get to the point where the instructons tell you to cut a print and I hit cut and NOTHING HAPPENS!!!! So I have been contour cutting my prints by hand

Your Site looks great! Very impressive. Especially for 2 days. I have been at it a lot longer than that I yours looks much better then mine!
  11. Hi, I have just put a new blade in my laser point 24 and I am having a problem setting the blade / pressure. If I set the pressure to low (70-80) (I am cutting FDC 2.8mil calendered vinyl) when I go to weed, many of the letters do not stick to the backing and I have to punch them through or hold them down to the backing while I weed. If I increase the pressure, the blade continues to cut as the blade holder is traveling to the next cutting position. this causes some of my letters to have cut marks going through them. Also, my the part that holds the blade holder is so tight that I don't even need to tighten the screw that holds the blade holder in it. I have to force the blade holder into it. it does not seem like that should happen, if it is so tight, why would you need the screw to tighten it?
  12. Thanks for the info everyone. I guess my best bet would be to make some sort of football shaped template that I could use to cut them out by hand after I apply the vinyl to them

    Off to the bow shop

ok this may be a dumb question, how do you get the 3 different colors to stick to the backing sheet? I have tried to do 2 colors and could not get it to work. I can do 2 colors if I layer them and leave them on the application tape. how do you transfer the other colors and get them to stick to the bare backing that is left behind after you weed the first one?

Hello from a newbie in NJ

I am in New Providence NJ. A small town about 15 miles due west of Newark Liberty Airport
  15. I want to try to make custom football shaped magnets with vinyl applied for my local high school football team. My local sign shop (Beacon Graphics in NJ) has 30mil in rolls and sheets. I just bought my cutter so I am still learning how to use it. can anyone tell me if it can handle 30mil magnets and if so, how would I set the blade so it would cut all the way through the magnet material? is it a pressure adjustment or is there an adjustment on the blade? Thanks, Eric
