juniorranger replied to juniorranger's topic in General discussion
I downloaded the inkscape program and looked up a couple tutorials on youtube and man that was easy... you know i never read instructions.. you try it 9 times before you open the book.. I was making it harder than it was... Thank everyone for their help.. JW I have found out you have to start with a clean copy first and thats what i keep running in to.. It is always grainey or multi color, gotta get that behind me and i am done.. -

To this day (fortunatly)most of the projects i have done have either been, Banners, Rear window lettering, just wording with shading or borders, some multi color, some not, either way they have always been pretty straight forward. And if there have been graphics they have either picked from my clip art collection or had an image that was art ready, Well life isnt always that easy.. I am really struggling lately with clients picking images from google images and I have added heat press shirts to my line up which add's the custom factor to the job even more. So with that said, My problem exist that I am not that proficient with photoshop and to be honest dont know rar from eps from png from vec files.. I know which ones to click in sign blazer to get what i need done, but every job is a huge challenge to me due to the fact that i am "re-inventing the wheel" with each job, which i get discouraged easliy and procrastinate on the jobs when it gets to that point.. Guess my questions are: What software is user friendly that most are using to get their projects out the door..?? Are most clients just choosing from clip art? (which in turn means i need to purchase more) Or are yall actually re-creating these jobs from scratch?? When a client brings a picture from google and says i want this, What do i do next.. Most of the time when i just scan it in and import to SB i get a very poor product at best.. I need help here guys, When it comes to adding graphics and custom graphics what direction do i need to go.. A photoshop for dummies book.. Or what, I am to the point of just selling it all and doing something else, i am so frustrated.. And most of my graphics on the t's are single color so that should be easier but not always so, I need a graphics 101 cliff's notes course real quick.. Please help me get a understanding of adding custom graphics.. -
Does anyone have an ".eps" indian head like on the back of a buffalo nickel or with a feather coming out or one like the indian motorcycle, or with a head dress? I have posted a couple to have re worked in graphics section but i need everyone to post one that they have in a cutable form so i can ad lettering, still battling this issue trying to get it right for the customer.. I have went thru my clip art files and have skulls and everything but something like that.. Please help guys.. thanks in advance...

I am trying to get this image altered so i can get a shirt done for my uncles birthday.. Where it says indian motorcycle he wants it to say " BIG APACHE" and under that where it says hendee mfg co. replace that with "CYCLES" and under that Mansfield, Texas, I have been fighting with this for over a week with photoshop and am unable to get it to where i can cut it in signblazer.. My final image will be reversed so i can use heat press material and make a shirt.. I tried to enclose the image in a couple of messages to forum members and couldnt get it attached.. Just not having good luck with this.. Please help if anyone can, with this project, it's killing me..

juniorranger posted a topic in General discussion
Been making a couple masking holders that the vinyl guys around here seem to like or are happy with, Can make you one from our specs or yours this one accommodates up to a 20" roll, i use 15" mostly but can make whatever width you need or this actual model i can sell for about 45 bucks plus shipping, I use 1" square galvanised tubing and shaft collars to hold the 1/2" guide rod in place.. Also have the good Commercial metal slim line snap blade razors for sale for 15.00 free shipping, had people beating me up on price so yea i gave in... Contact me on here or thru my direct email cadillacgrafix@live.com -

Input needed on a fun project I'm working on.
juniorranger replied to jheyne's topic in General discussion
Contact oracle and get them to send you some samples, they sent me a bunch when you go thru there sample list, they have got some pretty cool translucents, I would take a translucent and then another type of of real cool looking vinyl like a "machined turned" "brushed silver" ("saf-glo" fdc product which glo's in the dark and the back light would charge it then when it was off it would look cool) and then just layer the chosen vinyl over the translucent, that would be easiest.. They have vinyl that is translucent that is frosted like the glass in an old doctors office, looks cool and would be perfect for your project.. -
What vinyl stores are brick and mortar?
juniorranger replied to sabrina99's topic in General discussion
I use Regal Plastics, I either call ahead and it's ready when i get there, no more than 30 45 mins, or i just walk in and shoot the crap with the front desk girls while they pull my order great place if you have one around you, And you can actually ask to see somthing and touch it and look at it before you buy it, cool place. Google Regal Plastics, And they are cheap too. -
Time for a new cutter.
juniorranger replied to Dellrose Custom Lighting's topic in Pre-sale questions
No way i would sell my quads for a cutter, but i did sell the wheels right off my truck to buy my copam, kinda like shirt off the back, lol When i bought my Dodge on 22's I sold my 36" Pro Comps and had enough to get my copam, best decision i ever made.. www.myspace.com/juniorranger -
