    Cut lines not connecting

Just out of curiosity, does this happen on all cutters or is this just a pcut/lpcontour issue?

    Cut lines not connecting

I am cutting on an LP Contour 24. I use inkscape and signcut pro. It seems that a few people are having this same issue. When cutting, it's leaving small gaps on text and specific graphics. After checking over the graphic to make sure it's not a gap on the graphic, it still does it. I have slowed down the cutting, but not success. I am stumped. Is there a resolve to this? I am still somewhat new, but am hoping a USCutter expert can provide some knowledgeable insight to overcome this issue. Otherwise, I have been very pleased with my cutter, and feel this was a wise choice of entering into the vinyl world! Thanks in advance, McStewey

    screen printing for dummies.

Their office is literally 2 minutes from my house. Ironically they don't sell regular vinyl, only shirt vinyl. Great shop and very knowledgeable people!
  5. I recently picked up this cutter. It will do everything you are asking for but keep in mind.. the Roland has the optical eye, this one just is more of an alignment to registration marks manually. (There are videos to show you how to do this). Regarding printing whites to go on darks. If you are just doing a straight image, you should probably use a vinyl. I have been using Vyroll and have been incredibly impressed with their product. I am sure there are others out there that are equally as good. It will work with your vinyl cutter. Printers basically cannot print white. If you are doing a heat transfer image, you need to note that there are dark color heat transfers and light color heat transfers. Dark color transfers you can easily contour cut. I suggest youtube. It will give you a crash course. US Cutter also has some videos on this I believer. There are also many different brands of inks and heat transfer papers. You will have to research this on your own. There are some great examples of these in the forums. BTW.. You can get into pigment inks. They overall will be higher quality, but these are things where you will find many different opinions on this. Best of luck to you. Ohh.. if you do get a US Cutter, make sure you have a serial port on your computer, if not, purchase an express card that will convert to a serial. They will run from 20 - 30 bucks. Set your settings to hardware control and the correct serial ports. This will prevent any issues with lockups. The USB cables tend to not have enough umph to do jobs that are of a decent size or complexity. Best of luck to you, McStewey

Need Help Creating Graphic (Oregon Ducks Fans)

I caught this in the other forum but again.. Incredibly awesome! Thank you!
  8. If you are an Oregon Ducks Fan, and have the skills to make something that would look like the tapout logo, please PM me. I would like to make a design come to life that is beyond my beginner level of designing. I am sure it would be pretty easy. Thanks, McStewey

first large cut, lots of weeding, what do you think?

That looks great! I am just south of Seattle now in Vancouver so it doesn't hit home... but pretty close! Very impressive work.
  10. Hello all, Question, I currently have been dealing primarily with Vinyl and am keeping pretty busy with it. I was looking online and am seeing wide format printers for heat transfers for very affordable prices. (I am assuming they get you with the ink refills) For those of you who are more experienced, do you have a wide format printer and does it pay for itself? If so, what applications do you use it for? (Does it only work for shirts or do you find other used for it)? Also, being that I cant print onto my vinyl, can I heat transfer an image onto it? Thanks all. Business has been going good, so I am looking at what would help me enhance my offerings.
  11. Warning, he may become out of control, potentially dangerous if left along at a coffee shop! Definitely is energetic about making shirts! On a side note.. this is Exactly who you want to do an infomercial for you!

Have you adjusted your settings in your control panel to hardware controlled?

New to the forum and to my new UScutter

Welcome to the forum. I recently received my US cutter (LP Contour) and already am getting requests from companies and friends for projects. It's a lot of fun! What graphic program did you end up going with?

I had mega freezing issues. I bought an express card to serial for my computer, and have not had an issue since. Best $20 I have ever spent!
  15. The logo I can do easy enough. It's just knowing how much to charge for the shield. I am guessing the average provider would charge more than just a basic text wording due to layering of multiple colors on the transfer tape then applying as a whole on the door. I've gotten pretty good with the plotter and graphic designing. Thats from previous computer experience.
