Just checked on USCutter and they dont have the sizes I am looking for. I need a couple that are 2x4 and a couple that are 1x3 or 2x3 and can't seem to find them. I found some on Sign Supply (dot) com which is Ordway Sign Supply? Anyone ever used these guys before or can point me to a better place that has them?
Thanks

On a separate project for me I could also use like a 12"x12" piece of an intermediate vinyl in a magenta and cyan type color if anyone has any. Thanks!

I am looking for 1000 cards, 2 sided they are only black and white. No special die cuts or anything however one side should be RICH gloss black. Please PM me with your price for them including shipping to 06084 as well as a time frame till they can ship. I haven't been on here in a while and forgot who I got quotes from a long time ago. These will be ordered either today or tomorrow.

Alright I am working on a job for a computer company, I did a little free work for them for the company cars (literally used scraps of vinyl for it). Needless to say they were impressed and I did another sample for them, which they were again impressed with. I ended up tracing the image out myself and it took me about 1.75 hours to complete, I usually charge $25-45 an hour for my design work which is what this is, so no help needed there. I do however need help with what to actually charge for time on this one....
To weed each one it takes about 5-8 minutes just because of all the little small pieces, Size is 4.87" high by 5" wide. First order is for 12 of them. I was figuring somewhere around $5 each? I would like repeat business from them.
The next part is just a smaller version of the logo without any of the text except for "TAB" these are only about 1.75" high by just under 2" wide. They are very small and a pain to weed. Any thoughts?
Really appreciate the help!

just fyi you can get this for free if you sign up with Oracal.... thats how I got mine.

Idk.... they all have pretty distracting backgrounds... defiantly not the first, the 2nd might be ok with you can either lighten up the background or lighten up the text a bit.

Seems like a pretty cool idea, really opens yourself up to more business by accepting credit cards. Wish it worked on my Droid Eris haha

Problem with that logic is that if they wanted to press it, they would then ask who you purchased it from - worse case you'd end up in court and a judge would be asking the same question under oath... refusing that is considered contempt of court - as i said, worse case but still possible....you can cut stuff thats copywriten... just can't sell it lol
Dude
That is the worst advice ever given. There is no exception in the copyright law that says you can make for your own use. Copyright is copyright.
And who/how is someone going to know what I cut for myself? O someone sees a decal on my car of say the Dunkin Donuts logo.... asks if I made it myself... nope, I bought it... that was tough. So ya you can pretty much cut whatever you want for yourself, simple. I would bet every penny I have that you have cut copywritten material before, which makes you nothing but a hypocrite. The End.
ya if the REALLY REALLY want to go after a kid for making a couple nice decals for himself haha

Damn Joey you stock all the blanks?

My prices are known to be low... but I would be about $2-3 each, assuming I needed to really bid well to get the job.

Would something like a tailgate or back window advert with my own logo count?
If so add me please

Supply & Demand IMO . That is how it winds up to me in reality . Large demand or small supply supports higher prices ... the opposite is also true ... vinyl cutting has a large supply source . I have lost customers due to charging more & or others underbidding me . I have rarely ever gotten those customers back in any type of business I have done . It is best to leave something left over on the table , but not too much . It depends on how busy you are & how busy you want to stay ... if it is your only source of income etc . Everybody likes " Gravy " prices ( home run hit once in a while ) , but it is the " meat & potato " prices ( prices that will keep you busy instead of hoping a gravy job comes along ) that pay the bills most of the time . Like Stetson says " I am learning that it's what you want to charge not what others tell you they chage...
I see pricing all over the place on here form others in larger markets... "
I have seen some members constantly harp about higher prices & also seen them beg for work , so it really is about how busy you want to stay .
See thats the thing, this is not my only source of income... I work a sales job a few days, go to school a few days a week, and then do lots of freelance graphic design work as well. So while I like to be busy I dont need to be THAT busy all the time.

When i first started screen printing i thought the low price would bring lots of biz but then we were too busy doing small low end work that we had no time to go after real work all supplies and time were spent completing small orders, when you do finally have your 100 customers and try going up in price they will just go out and find some other guy starting out that will give them the under priced quote .. you cant be afraid to charge people what is right , i cut vinyl at a market every weekend no mater what we cut its atleast 5 bucks for a 1x5 inch name ,you can always just go by sq. inch you have to be able to sell your self and knowledge . on occasion we will do a player price for some one and yes they will tell others but you cant do it for all....
What you said really does make sense, thanks!

Could be the USB. Have you ever cut anything that long before? I know my cutter can connect via USB or serial port. I would see if you can connect via serial port as some of what your describing sounds like there isn't enough memory in the cutter to finish the cut.

Ya I wasn't saying I would go up on pricing for him all of a sudden. I was just trying to see if I was in the ballpark for these. I now see I am under the "normal" for the most part. I would never all of a sudden go up in price on the exact same thing I cut him before. I actually knocked a little off for him as well.
-
Ya my goal while starting off was to build up some customers. I would rather do 100 at $2 or $3 each then only 20 for $10 each.
That being said I do appreciate the help! I think I might go up just a little bit, seems like I have a little wiggle room to go to $3 or $4 and still get most if not all the orders of people who contact me.
Thanks again!

Ya looks like I really need to work on my pricing structure... I believe it or not am making money on these... just seems like I could be making a LOT more... I charged him $2.25 per.... So $45 for all of them. They are pretty easy to weed, the 2 color thing I actually apply the blue without any transfer tape... I just pull it up and line it up with the cut indentations of the white. Works pretty well.
I guess I could easily be up around $5 each for them...
Selling my R-tape cheap!

Haven't been on here in a while but I have a 3 week old roll of R-tape Medium tack clear application tapeAT60. This is the bigger 100yard roll by 15" wide and has about 15 feet or less missing off of it. I needed something a little tackier for my vehicle installs so I am trying to sell this roll off cheap. This is a $45 roll off UScutter and I will let it go for $25. PM me if your interested, I just need this roll gone its taking up space.
Thanks - Collin J.
(I will also attatch a file if need me to prove how much is on the roll.)
