NukleoN 34 Posted September 30, 2011 Hi everyone, Do anyone here make use of those embroidering machines? I'm working on art for a client about to have some t-shirts made with an embroidered logo, but the embroidery place the client is in contact with wants a JPG at 300 DPI. I can understand the DPI requirement, but a JPG? How do these embroidery machines work? What kind of files do they work from natively? I want to make sure the embroidery place isn't going to be mucking around with the source art, or stripping it out from the background or anything silly when I could just deliver an AI or SVG vector file. Thanks!
BoomDawgDesigns 0 Posted October 1, 2011 They will need a jpg. The artwork will have to be digitized for embroidery. They have to create a underbase then add the stitching on top. How tight the stitching is and how many stitches are used will depend on the way it is being run. The artwork will be turned into a general emb file. Then that file can be sized and turned into whatever file the particular embroidery machine uses (dst, pes, etc).
